RELEASED: Beyond the Final Frontier, Issue #6

Welcome once again to a new issue of Beyond the Final Frontier! This month's issue has a new location for those in need of an out-of-the-way place in the fringes, NPC, class outline for a Starfleet Academy game, new Ferengi options, an in-depth look at character generation, and a tribute to the late Jimmy Doohan.

    Happy Gaming!

We're having trouble uploading it. We're working the problem.

As for submissions, check out the previous issues and the Hall of Fire webzine issues. That should give you a sense of what GoB is looking for. Just about anything related to Trek gaming.

Hmm I have it! One thng that is really anoying me is that the file is coming out with the text rasterised as bitmaps, making it rather hard to read, given the relativelly low resolution of the bitmap, and the small size of the font.

if you want me to, I can try and convert it into embedded fonts, but I'll need someone to email me the source file (I'm guessing a word file?) and I should be able to do it. PM me if you want too.

I have just downloaded all six releases of BtFF webzine at www.starbase-coda.com but I couldn't get a working version of release 4. My AR always tells me, that the data content is damadged and can't be repaired. I deleted my download and tried a new one, but the new DL process didn't even take a ful second (I'm using an old, out of style modem!) and the thing is still damadged. Can somebody point me at what I'm doing wrong? Is there another site were to download the issues?

@ Tobian: I just opened up volume 6 and the text seems kinda blurred to me. Is that what you meant with your latest post? And is there any way to fix it?

I'm off now, reading through BtFF which I think are quite cool!

There's no way to fix it in your viewer, I'm trying to work with the author to get it working correctly, you'll have to stand by

With regards to your faulty download; well i downloaded it myself to see, and it worked fine!? So I suspect your cache is being mangled somehow. I would recomend you download some downloading software, such as Getright, to help stabalise your downloads, and stop and start them.. especially useful if you are usinga modem, which is slow, and it's a big download!

As per your advice, I'm now standing by Thank you for tackling that problem.

The download thing seems to have cleared up, I just tried it again and it seems to be working so far this time...*fingerscrossed*

No! Not Getright! They recently added spyware! Avoid it at all costs.

    Use Flashget instead: http://www.amazesoft.com/

Submission rules are fairly loose... DOC or TXT, any pics you'd like to feature, use DEC format standards for profiles (starships, characters, etc.). If you have any questions about anything in particular, just send me an email.
