Starfleet Operations Manual

Hi, new user here with a question about the Starfleet Operations Manual. I've ordered a copy through Amazon Marketplace, but who knows when it will ship. I'd like to know what additional races, starships, and other character options are in the book, but I haven't been able to find that information anywhere (so if I missed it in a previous thread here, I apologize).

I'm sitting down tomorrow with my regular play group to create characters for a Starfleet campaign set shortly after the end of Star Trek VI. I'd like to be able to at least let them know what options exist in that book so they can consider them, so could somebody post a simple list of what Alien races are in the book, as well as a list of any Professions/Elite Professions?

I already have the Player's book and Narrator's book (from right after the game was released), as well as a copy of the Aliens book. SOM and Starships are on order through Amazon Marketplace, and I don't really intend to put the crew up against any creatures, so haven't (yet) bothered with that book.

It's closer to Utah than Amarillo...though you're more than welcome to look me up if you ever feel like a 4-hour drive east. We'll find a way to fit you in for a night if you're up for it.

As for what's in it, I found this post from the former line developer for the game, which tells you most of what you want to know.

Thanks for all the great replies... um... dudes.

For one thing, the Regulans, IIRC, are another name for the Caitians, and I have a player who wants to play one.

Regulans are Caitians, yes. I think you'll enjoy that part.

Hey, if that means getting to play Trek, I'm all for it!

My only opportunities to play in the past 15 years have been with Doug, and some of those have been "brief." Clearly I need to run a game. ("If you run it, they will come.")

Be warned, the ship stats are pre-"Starships" and are really cobbled together. They don't stand up to much scrutiny.

Tempting, ST, believe me. But proximity to my six-year-old son would prompt me to maintain my residence here in the State of Confusion...

You guys played for a while in the Gallant game before I joined up, didn't you?

If it's on a day I'm not gaming or have other commitments (say... Wednesdays after 6:30 or so...) I'd be there in a heartbeat.

You know, I've been meaning to try fixing those ships. Just have to set the time aside, I guess.
