    Threshold...

I heard a couple of ads for this, and thought, heck, not watching much science fiction besides new BSG, and this one's got Carla Gugino for eyecandy. Maybe I'll give it a look. So I pop over to TV.COM, and there it is, big as life: the deadly name "Brannon Braga" as a producer. So much for that!

Anyone else plan to give it a try?

I don't do shows about alien invasions in the present day, sorry.

I'll see what the first/pilot episode has to offer. I want to see that without Rick Berman, Braga is more productively creative.

Hey, I'm not so hot about the other guy: Goyer.

What about an alien invasion in the Middle Ages? Prehistoric (at least the dialogues are simple: grunts and growls)?

Aliens? I thought they were the Saracens.

As long as its just a black obelisk, I'm all right.

It is actually fairly decent. I would have to say Brent Spiner’s performance is the best of the shows ensemble, however, his part in the series seems to be “the brain of the moment” character which sees little screen time.

So far, I have to say favorite new show of the season is The WB’s Supernatural. Although unrelated to them, Supernatural seems to be a nice progression forward from the Buffy: TVS and Angel series.

I've heard it's quite unintentionally funny.

I finally (fin-ally??) saw the pilot for surface last night.

Interesting, but how long can you keep up the sea-monster thing?

It's kinda like watching "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" done 24 style; really slow and deliberate.

Invasion....kinda the same thing. I didn't see Threshold (great move, CBS: start a sci-fi series and put it against the only real sci-fi on TV, the STargate twins and Battlestar Galactica. And for good measure, put it's premiere agianst their finales!)
But the bits I saw were intruging (multi-dimentional beings, as opposed to fleshy tech ladden ones we normally get).
And Supernatural looks good, but i gotta have my JLU fix....

Looked the first episodes, look decent but i'm not sure if they can keep the interest of the watchers for a long time with the current plot.

I finally got to view the pilot episode, and it's borderline, IMO. Can't really say it's good, can't really say it's horrible, but I'm willing to suspend my belief regarding "bio-forming" a double-helix organism to a triple-helix organism.

On the sexist side, at least the leading star is eye candy, especially in her short nightgown.

BTW, the guy playing Cavanaugh, is he related to Dirk "Starbuck" Benedict?
