    DEAL SIGNED! it's GURPS!

Press release to follow. A few quick notes.

    1. Probably call it Prime Directive 2nd Edition.

    2. We will be looking for some writers and artists. Wait until 10 July to ask for "guides".

    3. First product should be along about October.

Prime Directive was the RPG set in the world of Star Fleet Battles, who got their licence back in the 70s and are fiercely protective of it. Paramount is not very happy with them, feeling their take on the Trek universe was too miltaristic (and, of course, the deal was made back when they thought Trek was worthless ).
The Computer game Starfleet Command is grown not from Trek, but from SFB.

However, I am fairly certain that the computer Starfleet Command Game was made with Paramount approval, using the Star Fleet Battles rules as an engine.
