    Desperate Housewives

    The opposite of Desperate Housewives?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    My sister came down from Las Vegas (I think two weekends ago), and while she was here she insisted that she watch Desperate Housewives. Now, as I understand it, this is a very popular show. However, it didn't appeal to me. Alot of wives who go around acting caty and cheating, and what not . . . or atleast that is what I got from it.

    Now, this is my question . . .

    Why is there no opposite counterpart to this show? Like . . . "Unappretiated Husbands" or something like that? Would that even float, or be allowed to exist even?

    And if not, why? Would that be fair?

    The Blue Collar Comedy Tour, that's about the closest to an oppisite as your ever going to get (or for truely oppisite The Shield). All in all people would rather see a women having issues in a show than a man.

    For my next section that's your sister?!? I'm impressed. So...um...what happened to you

    Somehow, I think that a TV show starring a bunch of sexist asshole men cheating on their wives with floozy 'girl toys' would NOT go over well.. Interesting message the media sends, isn't it? No wonder fewer men are getting married.

    Could be, but why then, if it is the opposite of Desperate Housewives, isn't it on network television? And on the Mickey Mouse owned channel even.

    Let's see...

    A hard-luck divorced father falling in love with a female plumber... who is in competition with a womanizing divorcee who has to have his dipstick in every woman he meets, including a nun...

    A father who gave up his high-income corporate life to raise three hellish teen daughters while the mother is bringing home the bacon (yeah, I advance the children's year because rebellious teen daughters often cause more stress for fathers)...

    An uber-organized OCD father who recently buried his wife ... twice (the first time he found something wrong during the first burial)...

    A gold-digging former model now husband making time for the maid, visiting his wife in jail for a white-collar crime and assault...

    And the narrator who recently killed himself for a secret about his daughter...

    Nah, not worth watching for both male and female viewers. It's only fun when the housewives have such drama.
