More like 'loosely based' upon the science fiction world of the original series. As I recall, they don't even have the right to use the Enterprise or any of her crew. SFB is higly divergent from the 'real' Trek universe. More like an alternate universe IMHO. And highly more militant. Personally, I'm not a fan of this particular interpretation, however I'll probably buy any adventure modules. You can never have too many modules.

Also a good source for Trek-themed ship designs, even if you do have to basicly make up your own stats.
Anything that close to Trek is going to have ideas worth stealing.

Frankly, I'm none too fussy where I steal my modules from. I'm currently working on Trek conversions of my old Star Frontiers modules. (Mutiny On The Elanor Mores lends itself quite well.)
