Not anything more than, "When they're ready." I'm not any more privy to the schedule, if there is one, than you are.Originally Posted by Feanorgil

I've seen the LOTR schedule, but I know Decipher isn't planning to release it for general consumption, which I think is smart. Any number of things can happen, and releasing a schedule full of promises is just asking for trouble.Originally Posted by Feanorgil
The site should be going fully live in January, with lots of downloadable articles and information. A small team of writers and editors (including myself and Patrick) are working up content for both the Trek and LOTR sites, and you can expect to see a handful of new articles every month, depending on how fast the licensors can approve the content that needs to be approved.Originally Posted by Feanorgil
At some point in the future, if things look steady, we might be able to open up the website to submissions, but that's a way down the line. If folks have stuff they want to contribute now, I highly recommend they contact GandalfofBorg and get that content into his two excellent webzines.

maybe a merger is in order since Hall of Fire has carried the torch so well. On the other hand maybe not a purely fan generated periodical has its own charm. I am delighted and excited about the web site. If you should need "donations" to keep it going don't hesitate to ask.Originally Posted by Ineti
In hindsight I am glad to see LOTRrpg carry on following the movies. So often as one can imagine the enthusiamsim for something can wane as it has already passed by.
Speaking of which anyone have any news when they are going to do the hobbit?

I have to agree here Feanorgil, not for the charm, but the freedom. Our fan-based periodical is not subject to New Line or TE scrutiny and it can contain any era, any source, and not need to be approved except by our readers (let's face it, if we started spinning out stuff that lost its Middle-earth 'feel', we'd lose readership). I have to admit, it would be awesome to have some of the resources that Decipher has (i.e. artwork, fonts, etc.), but I like not being too constrained.Originally Posted by Feanorgil

Doug and Matt have already been invited to provide articles for the website.Originally Posted by Feanorgil
I would not want to see a formal merger though, simply because Hall of Fire can get away with articles that Decipher simply isn't allowed to produce. As a fan-made product, HOF doesn't have to worry about licensing issues.
And I intend to keep contributing to HOF as long as Matt and Doug will have me, because there are some things I want to write that won't get approved by New Line (such as stuff from the Silmarillion and other non-licensed sources).
Every great RPG needs great fan support, and I simply can't think of a better fan resource for the LOTR RPG than the Hall of Fire.

Tomcat you do a wonderful job as it is... as far as art work is concerned I have contacted Kiernan for a private commission. Looks promising...so there is something to said for the e-revolution the game is going through. A fanzine that brings so much to the table and it gets better with every issue, PDFs on line for downloads ( elebreth!!! LOL I can't wait to see the rest of the Decipher line come out)... a LOTRrpg web site that will be operational in January. It is an awesome feeling to know that something you love is growing and expanding.Originally Posted by Tomcat

Well it's downloaded... Read it ... on a scale of 1-5 its a 3.7. Yet don't let the score mislead you. As resource as it is you will find it chocked full of information crearures and foul creations. I didn't agree with Saruman's attribute's ( always envisioned him stronger than he is portrayed in the LOTRrpg material. Anyway as usual the work is colorful and magnificent .. and well worth it in my opinion. It just wasn't what I expected.

Hard to believe.
You want to send me a news blurb, Ineti, so I can get it up on TGC for the January issue?
