    USS Paine Class Heavy Frigate

didn't want to step on shoes or anything... doh!

I did this one largely to play with my new Excelsior pieces (and the Paine is described as from that era, originally). One of FASA's weaker efforts, even for the TNG officer's manual!

Anyways, a bunch of new lines, rescaled to the Excelsior for everything (basing it on the engines). Looks more like a believable ship now, though I think the warp engines look silly like that.. if they were angled DOWN instead, maybe...

    Thumbs up

Now that's the one version of Excelsior class I can really stand. Great work TFVanguard!

    USS Keith Class Scout

Usual problems, and one of FASA's typical 'start at the saucer and drawn random crap in a diagonally down direction, then throw on a warp engine' ... This ship is remarkably unimpressive all around. Yuck.

    GAH! That is just Fugly!
A brave little theory, and actually quite coherent for a system of five or seven dimensions -- if only we lived in one.

It's a nice job on a Ship that sucks. I've always thought that this would look better with the nacelles pointing down (so they end up below the saucer), rather than up.

Ew. Somebody stepped in something. The top view doesn't look too bad, but the side view looks horrific, and the front view makes the whole thing look ungainly.

It's too tall, and too tarted up with crap to look pretty.

Sweet! Now, if i asked really nice (and provided the registry number), could you do me up a version as the USS Durendal?

Shouldn't be much of a problem... since it's just putting back the 'plain label' spots and putting down a new registry, right?

Yet another take on this. This time, I wanted to make use of Starship Modeller's rollbar design for TOS ships. I'm not entirely happy with this one either, but it seems to work better than most straight-up conversions.

True enough. I think I have the registry around here somewhere. Let me find it...

True. The top view isn't too bad. If one junked the front view and all that crap under the main part of the secondary hull (what IS that, some kinda funky hangar deck?), and moved the nacelle "wings" up so that they hame out of the secondary hull, say, at its midpoint, it might almost make a decent ship. Might require enlarging the saucer a bit - bring it closer to a bridge-appropriate size.
