    Thanks. guys. It's always nice to know where your friends are.

    It's my birthday (and it went very well, thanks; listening to one of my presents, U2's new album No Line On the Horizon, even as I type this), but I'm hoping that I'll be in a position to give you guys a present before tonight's done.     This is wonderful! Where does the fluff come from? The novel Dreadnought, or other fic (or original!?)? I haven't read novels since, erm, Peter David's Vendetta, so I'm more than a little out of touch with that part of Trek.

    The fluff was influenced a little bit by Dreadnought, but as far as I know it's original.
