Thread: The Orion Syndicate

    The Orion Syndicate

I am currently running a TNG Game set in 2367.
I was thinking of using the Orion Syndicate in my game.
I have looked at various online references but can't seem to find much info on the Syndicate during the TNG Era.

Anyone know what they were up to or any websites that tell more about them?

The orions, and orions book of deep knowledge by FASA.

Not really Canon, but hey, it's something.

They say in the 24th Century they are like the Mafia.

So they still slave and still plague the Federation.

    Enter the Orion Tony Soprano!

    Woot!!

Sounds like more Federation propaganda to me, they are legitimate businessmen.

There were a few DS9 episodes dealing with the Orion Syndicates. Also, check out Enterprise season 4 for an intriguing twist on the "Green Orion slave women."

CODA's got pheremone stats in Aliens.

The Syndicate by the 2360s seems to be mainly non-Orions, especially as it expands beyond the Beta Quadrant.

Even as far back as The Cage, there were non-Green Orion "Orion Traders." One of the illusions offered Pike was of retiring and become an Orion Trader, dealing in Orion Slave Women. (Of course, now we know who's in charge in such a relationship...)

Anyone know why FASA did all the Skittles of Orion weirdness in the sourcebooks?

I don't think the Orions are an entire civilization dedicated to mafia. Every country has out law organizations in our days, and I think the Orions are just the most famous.

As the name suggests, the Orion Syndicate can have members of many races and may have this name because was created by Orions.

They run several illegal activities in several places and must have help of local people. My suggestion to you is adapt the today’s mafia to Star Trek Universe.

What makes you think the Syndicate is an outlaw organization for the Orions?

Unfortunately, there are few references about that, but for instance, the DS9 episode named The Ascent, talks about Quark’s try to be an Orion Syndicate member. Sinopsis: http://www.startrek.com/startrek/vie...ail/68976.html I think is better to see the episode.

I read several RPG sourcebooks talking about Orion Syndicate be an Orion’s mafia organization. For instance this link: http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Orion_Syndicate
