Thread: Doctor Zimmerman, i presume...

    Post Doctor Zimmerman, i presume...

Hi all.. Starting thinking about how holography should be used skillwise, and it occured to me that maybe the good doctor would be a good way to pass the time creating. Has anyone else written up the doc you love to hate? Is there a disadvantage of "annoys the hell out of everyone around him"? : )

Also, how does everyone denote the holographic skills? I'm sure computer (holotech) would do the trick, but how do you use it in your game?

Just trying to stir a little conversation... been too quiet around here lately.. = )
Maybe even spark a little chat about how the decipher game will handle holograms...

I believe there are basic stats for EMH's in SpaceDock.

    And welcome aboard!

Whoops.. maybe i should have made myself a little more clear...

Not the holodoc himself, but Dr. Lewis Zimmerman.. the holodoc's creator!

How would you guys note his skills at "holoprograming"? I know what i was planning to do, but i'd welcome your opinions on what his character sheet might look like...

Doctor Z's stats appear in the SFA Icon Links available here on TrekRPGNet in the Computer Core.

Well personally I use the following new specialisations (Venture players take note)

Computer (Holographic Programming) - For the working Holograms, that would be stuff like the EMH's and the like. Training Programs.

Artistic Expression (Holography) - For entertainment holodeck programs, can also be used as the skill above, but from a different viewpoint, while one would see a tool, the other would see a masterpiece...
Also used for Holo-photography, although a better better term than Holographic Programming for an all-encompasing version would be 'Holography'

Systems Engineering (Holographic Systems) - Not so much the programming, but more the upkeep of emitters and the actual computer and power systems.

Theres probably a few more around here, but those 3 are the basics...

Lets no forget Shipboard Systems: Holodeck for the casual user.

Shoot! I was hoping Computer (Modeling/Simulation) could be used for the same thing by Rutherford.

    Wink

Dont worry too much, if the use matches the description, then the skill is valid. However a focused specialisation should make things easier...
