I would like to see Star Trek & Firefly/Serenity.

I would love to see how Kirk would handle Mel & crew.

Kirk would seduce Inara, which would piss off Mal, and then both captains would be brawling.

River would follow around Mr. Spock, annoying him.

McCoy would get Simon drunk on illegal Romulan Ale.

Scotty would be smitten by Kaylee like the daughter she never have.

Jane would be outside removing the Enterprise warp engines, being followed by a Yeoman Rand on a crush.

Book would be breaking all vows of chastity with Uhura.

All the while, Wash and Zoe are on their "honeymoon" phase.

    But who would win.

    Kirk or Mel?

    I vote for Mel.

Who's Mel? Mel Torme? Mel of Mel's Diner in Alice?

Reg was trying to point out that you keep calling him Mel; everyone calls him "Mal" - short for Malcolm Reynolds. And i'd put my money on him too if it wasn't for the power of the all mighty "Kirk Double Fist" hammer blow which can take out even the mightiest of alien warriors.

Only Mal doesn't have any vital areas (due to numerous war injuries), and Kirk might mistake a knee for the groin.

Who's better? Mal? Okona (TNG, William Campbell)? Harry Mudd?

REG, how could you leave out the one and only, Han Solo?

Oh, there is no need to fight. In these dark times, when sci-fi is under attack by those who would dillute it's thought provokeing content to make a buck, or by those who think it's 'outdated' as our reality becomes more technocentric and darker than your average cyber-punk novel.

On my book shelf, the Three 'Star' Franchises live in harmony. TREK, WARS and GATE, all interesting, all good in their own right (all cancelled? what is up with that anyway? I mean if we were all supposedly throwing our weights at one thing or another, you would think that ONE of the lines would still be out there...)

And, even if you HATE SW, you have to admit, the Han Solo character is a great piece of anti-hero goodness.

Dude, Han Solo is as anti-hero as Aladdin is a felonious thief.

Even I wouldn't be cheering for Luke to blow up the Death Star. I wouldn't even admit saving his ass.
