Real fit of originality here, I know. This is just the 'cage' version of the Hermes class, which is the same as the Saladin class only without most of the weapon mounts.

The Pitsburgh class looks a lot like a fan-made class I've seen called the Decatur or Belknap class (I even bought a fan-published magazine with a big article on that class, including how the TOS era prototype was the Belknap, but by the time the vessel went into production it had been updated to TMP tech, and the new class prototype was the Decatur.) (I may have those names backwards there: maybe it was the Decatur, but became the Belknap class.)
It was intended to be a ship slightly less powerful than a Constitution; perhaps a Light Cruiser to the Constitution's Heavy.
And what it looked like was basicly a Constitution with the engines lowered: the pylons still sloped, but where a Constitution's attach at the top of the secondary hull, the Decatur's attached at the bottom.
Just FYI.

Actually, TFVanguard's already done the Decatur.
Yeah, Belknap was the movie-Era one (although which was actually designed first, I don't know.) I believe it was labeled a "Strike Cruiser."
Neither had the extended hull the Pittsburgh has, though.

Ah, yes, the Decatur is basically the Constitution class without all that pesky lab and sciences stuff in the way. It's called a 'Strike Cruiser'.. but, well, it would just be a 'cruiser' with its description.
Belknap is the uprated version of the ship.
