    DriveThru .PDF Mystery solved?

As you might have come to know, the two LotR titles Path's of the Wise and Isengard that could be purchased as pdf downloads have been taken from the Drivethru site. Chatting with a guy over at the Mongoose Forums I was shown this:

    http://paizo.com/store/games/rolepla.../v5748btpy7fmq

Could this be the solver to the mystery? Will those .pdf see print after all?

Any thoughts? Patrick? Ineti? Anyone?! :-)

Well, it's shown as a hardback, but Isengard isn't listed there, and neither of the missing Trek titles are shown, either. I don't think this is it, though it's nice that Paizo has the existing titles listed in their store.

I'd like to think that they'll see print, but I haven't heard anything of the sort.

Yes, I've checked the other 'missing' titles as well and didn't find them. Hence there is no thread pdf Mystery solved over at the Trek forums.

On the issue of the hardcover: have there been any titles of LotRs in softcover (apart from the Hero's journal or the tomes in the Moria box)?

I would like to order Helm's Deep from somewhere. I don't have it and it's the last printed title missing in my collection, but there has been no way (that I know of) to get a copy (without paying shipping and handling like hell!) here in / to Germany.

Yes, and finally I actually don't think that the answer to the gone .pdfs has been found, but one could at least hope for a print release of PotW.

Has there been any word from Decipher yet, if the pdf titles will ever be available again?

Not yet, but they've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks getting new product out the door (they had a couple of different card sets release), which will hopefully bring in some money. However, inthe process of getting them out the door, they haven't been able to do much else. I'll keep you posted.

So the rumors that are floating around the net, that Decipher has some (serious) money issues could be true?

On the other hand, how hard can it be to give DriveThru a call, a mail or a letter, allowing them to at least to put those for files back on their site that have been on for so long...?!

As usual, you're more than welcome.

An email was sent; I don't know what the response was to that email, but I know one was sent.

Actually, Helm's Deep is a softcover. Decipher couldn't afford to release it as a hardcover. Also, the first 32 pages of it are in full color, the rest are sepia-toned. Clearly they couldn't afford to print the whole thing in color either.

Quite true. Hopefully the Star Trek CCG sales over the next few months with the next couple of releases will help.

You see, didn't know that. Helm's Deep isn't that easy to come by in germany.
I have heard yet another rumour over at the Mongoose boards. There are rumours that MP is about to secure a great license, being reffered to as 'the Holy Grail' of roleplaying. Though no information is forthcoming by people of Mongoose the members of the forums are suggesting that it might be a new version of a LotRs RPG. Most probably as a setting for their newest RuneQuest system. So far I was a bit sceptical of Decipher sublicensing LotR or Trek stuff, but if they have money issues, that might just do the trick...

As much as I like new LotR books being published and enjoyed the RuneQuest main rulebook, I would like to see new books coming out from Decipher for their CODA system. I like it very much.
So I hope that the CCG sales are going to be good and helpful.
