Can't say that I have that much of an opinion on the name of the ship. On the other hand, I am just a passenger, so maybe I shouldn't have an opinion anyway.

Still stuck at deciding the family origin of my character. I was originally choosing between Polish, Dutch or some hispanic country. As it will affect a hobby of his, it will result in some research for me that I don't know if I really have time for Maybe I should go with swedish. It might not be exotic to me, but I guess it will be to everyone else.

True enough; one of my favorite Star Trek characters was my captain who was from Kansas City and was closest to myself in personality.

Swedish it is then. Then I only have to decide on a name.

He already have a lot of things that are from me, and things that are not. So it isn't any big difference. Just a small bit of flavour.

Why not a play on words that only a swed would get . . . and let narrator in on it, so he can play with you as well.

    Okay, let's settle on a ship's name.

SS Roger C. Carmel (after the actor who portrayed Harry Mudd)
SS Jeremiah O'Brien (famous Liberty Ship-turned-museum)
SS Eridani Clipper (adapted from Pacific Clipper)
SS William P. Frye (first US Merchant vessel lost during WWI)
SS Ora Ellis (last Liberty Ship)

Everyone please vote for one, and one only. Cpt, you too.

FYI, the communications officer NPC is also complete.

Although the "SS Jeremiah O'Brien" would come as a good second.

Personally, I prefer the name Eridani Clipper, too. Tricky, C5, Cpt? Any thoughts?

I like it too. Doesn't sound too Earth centric and that's good to me.

BTW, I apologize for my complete apathy in the past weeks. My work has been keeping me very busy since the beginning of the year. I'll try to find time to complete the Shaaltz writeup and write my character stats ASAP.

Why Eredini? Is that not the star that Vulcan is suppose to be around? Why not name it after the spire that our stars are within? Or how about an obscure Sol object, like an often looked after asteroid? But I think the clipper is a good tie in to an actual event which is similar to the campaign idea . . . maybe even paint it in the colors of PanAm.

Not that I am a part of this campaign, but how about the Ceres Clipper. It was a planet then downgraded when more of the asteroids were found.

    Clipper Eclispe seems reasonable.

First off, I must say i'm sorry for my lack of motion on the game. Been kinda a weird period for me and mine (2 car accidents, layoffs and callbacks, the Holidays, death of a elderly uncle and a family pet and a wedding. and thats all in the last 2 months!!!) but I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.

Hmmm, Eredini Clipper is good, it has a good ring to it, but maybe the nod to the Great Bird of the Galaxy would be better.

I know, not helping much, but hey, you asked.

Okay, between Eridani Clipper and Clipper Eclipse, what would you folks prefer?
