Steve Long and I were hanging out at an all-night burger joint and chatting just a few hours ago, but that's unusual and in fact the very first time we've met in person (he's passing through town on his way to OwlCon). On a more normal day, we keep in occasional contact via email and phone, and i've done a couple of small projects with/for him over at Hero Games (most notably, he called on me in my old LUG capacity as "GMing Advice Writer Guy" to do some GMing advice for his magnificent octopus, Pulp Hero). Steve Long is my strongest continual tie to the old LUG crew.

Kenneth Hite and I don't chat anymore, but we occasionally say nice things about one another's work online. I haven't chatted with or heard a peep out of Ross or Christian in years, now (but I really enjoyed chatting with Ross back in the day, and would love to look him up sometime). I still have occasional cause to correspond with folks like Bruce Baugh and Dierdre Brooks (both of whom were writing for me on the movie-era book), and I have once-in-a-blue-moon contact with folks like Steve Kenson or Robin Laws or James Maliszewski, all of whom I was in LUGTrek projects with.

That sounds great. And what a coincidence that I might ask this question the same night you meet with Steve :-)

    And a conincidence it was

As you say you have meet Steve Long for the first time in person, I gather that a lot of work on the LUG Trek thing was done via mail, internet and phone calls and not in direct meetings? I think that's interesting! How many people were directely involved in the LUG Trek Game?

Is Robin Laws the Robin D. Laws that has done some older Glorantha RuneQuest stuff and only recently some newer Mongoose Publishing RuneQuest stuff?

For new stuff, check out TFVanguard's schematics threads in utopia planitia. Probably the coolest thing here now : P

Yeah, game writers are scattered all over the place. It's not at all uncommon for an RPG book to be written by people from three or four different continents, let alone countries (and then illustrated by people on still more, etc).

In Bunnies & Burrows terms: lots!

    Haha.

Anyway, I asked him about unpublished Trek material a while ago, and he said he wrote it a couple computers ago, so he's not sure whether he still has it anywhere.
