Wow, I had no idea that that was what it was originally going to look like.
Where did you find this out?

Don Miller's SSDs for Star Fleet Battles are here, axing the URL past sfb takes you to the main site.
The original pics started circulating as far back as the old Starlog magazine from TWOk's release. Since then, there's been quite a few redraws of the ship.

The Thyella was one of those unnammed 'spare parts' fan projects that I found some time ago. It wasn't complete or anything, and so I just finished her up and put her together.

Well, I kinda like it. I think I'm going to do something with it...perhaps re-stat my King's Protector as a size 5 and use this one as the visual. Dunno. Will figure it out later.

Thanks to TFVanguard I have my next ship if I ever can get a game going again. Take the two ships I like most and shmush them together and I get the Star Voyager-class Starship. I don't have stats yet, just highlights, but I'll be working on some stats soon.
Not too clear on thier history yet. I'm thinking they were an upgraded Miranda intended to provide a long-range ship capable of replacing the Enterprise-class, but they experienced the same issues which would be encountered with the Constellation-class (which was a completely new design; thinking a from scratch build would solve some of the problems that the Miranda spaceframe was not up to handling in the Star Voyager variant).

A very not-bad looking ship; let us know what you come up with stat-wise when the time comes. If it's a CODA ship, send it on and I'll post it on BTFF.

Thank-you.
I have the CODA books (given me by a friend of a friend), but I'm not familiar with CODA so it will be ICON/SD. If anyone familiar with CODA wanted to do a conversion for BTFF I'd have no problem.
I have a much better picture of the class than this one posted here (for some reason it wouldn't let me post a jpeg--kept saying not a supported file type), which would be much better if making an appearance in BTFF.
