If Matt Damon is going to be Captain Kirk, does that mean Ben Affleck is gonna be Mr. Spock?

That brings up another MMORPG . . . anyone else here play WoW? If so, what server? And what side?
If anyone wants to join me on Daggerspine in the Alliance, I would be more then happy to help a fellow trekkie out . . . maybe we can start a guild . . . the Red Shirt Group . . . and for our Tabbard it could be a red shift with an arrowhead nicely placed as a target over the heart.

Or we can wait for my Wife to start the Lollipop Guild.

OK . . . so the developer liquidated and the license has been transfered to Cryptic who has developed the City of Heroes/Villians franchise as well as several other MMORPGs.

What do you all think are the chances of them succeeding in putting out a worthy product . . . especially since they also have the license, and are working on developing a Marvel Universe MMORPG?

If they do anyone interested in forming a Squadron prior to its start so we have a cohesive "guild" to start with?

So Cryptic has stated that the launch date will be early 2010. So woes in?

So there is an official launch date of 2FEB2010, and you can already pre-order the game.
There was talk int he past of forming a guild/clan/fleet/squadron of players from our community.
Is there still others interested in such an endeavor?

Apparently a closed beta is open for subscription. I had not had the time so far to look seriously into it (and I'm not sure I'd have the time to play either), but did someone here tried it ?

hmmm. Dont seem to get much online time, but I certainly have a hankering to play upon release. So keep a space for new guild members... Maybe we could use the time zones for different shifts with us Europeans running one shift, the 'merican continent another, and... erm... Sir Sig taking on one from Oz (do we have anyone else out there in that time zone?)...

Only problem is that you had to subscribe to Champians for the closed beta. There are currently opennings for an open beta, so says my cousin the WoW addict.

DG, are you suggesting you want a persistant guilde presence? Although a cool idea, that sounds like some shifts will be harded than others. I'd imagine we'd have to keep those pesky Klingons at bay, so such activities, in some sence would be needed.

Star Trek and DC Online are the first online games I'm actively considering.
