    Moria boxed set

Does anyone have the Moria boxed set & what do you think of it?

Is it worth purchasing for someone like me who is a LOTR fan but doesn't expect to GM a lot of adventures b/c of scarcity of players? Right now I only have the Core book, Narrators Screen & the free adventures from Decipher.

Does the Moria boxed supplement have a lot of adventure ideas or is a source for adventure ideas?

It is widely considered one of, if not, the best supplement for the game. The boxed set includes map tiles and a book talking about the mines and another detailing the clans of dwarves in Middle-earth, racial info for each of them. All info, including new Elite Orders, the Peril System, etc. is top-notch and a great read. I highly suggest getting it.

If you want to learn more about it, go to the first link in my sig. It can take you to a page detailing the product's contents, price, places you can find it, and reviews.

It's a good one. If you can find it, I'd advise you to get one.

Thanks for the input & comments about the Moria boxed set. It sounds intriguing. After I first read the Fellowship of the Ring & after I saw the LOTR animated movie (and of course Peter Jackson's epic film), I always thought the Mines of Moria would make an excellent, long-term adventure/campaign for any fantasy RPG.

Now I just have to find copy of the set for myself.

BTW, what other supplements for the LOTR RPG do you recommend? I'm particularly interested in supplements that I can mine for adventure ideas.

Are there any supplements you don't like that much or don't think are worth purchasing?

As Spock said in Star Trek IV: Simple logic is the best :-)

    Moria under 24 $ is a bargain!

    Product Score
    ------- -----
FotR SB 4 useful only for GMs who want info on places described in the book
TTT SB 5 Legendary Attributes rules; same as above
Maps 1 7 great maps, info comes straight from CRB
Maps 2 8 even better maps IMO, plenty of interesting info
Narrator's Screen 3 picture is bad, tables not useful (have been errata'd), adventure in booklet quite good
FB&WM 8 expanded info on enemies in CRB, more creatures, rules for creating new creatures, some info on magical and heroic items
Helm's Deep 8 great info on the location, some new character traits, new mass combat rules!
Paths of the Wise 9 great info all around for orders, elite orders, new elite orders, more spells, etc, etc, etc.
Isengard 7 great background info, not much (if any) use for players

I agree with GoB's scores, and I'll add:

Character Journal, rating 0. 32 page character sheet of which over half the pages are blank. Do yourself a favor and save the money. Go to Mad Irishman's site and use his character sheet.

Did you leave Moria out of this list for a purpose?!

Yes I have read your answer above. I was just fooling around
