Not my type. I would prefer paramounbt to stick to the classic symphonic stuff, that has the merit to be "neutral", any other kind of music will face pros and cons.

Hoping You'll understand all of this
I don't like the new 'Rock' music in the promo. I preferred the old classical approach, because it gave it a type of grandiose feel.
This new music makes the show feel more like...gulp...Andromeda.
I'm not a big fan of B&B or even the new show, though I do see the logic behind it.
Just my opinion though, I'm more of an old guard canon fan.
Not my type of ST theme music at all. Listening to it makes me think of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and MTV type programs for some reason?
Maybe I'm just too stuck on traditional trek...
It's about time "rock n roll" music invaded the Trek TV series, even though the selected piece in the jukebox (not the Steppenwolf blasting in the cockpit of Phoenix) in FIRST CONTACT really sucks. (They couldn't afford a well-known music?)
But if I hear that Eminem rapping to the theme of Trek in an inappropriate fashion (pimping Orion girls, bombing Bajor, raping Troi, etc.) then I'm not watching.
------------------ Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...
