Well a friend and I recently aquired the star trek books from decipher. By defualt I will be running the adventures.
I mst say we were a little disapointed as a predominately large amunt of information was geared toward TNG. Our series will be taking place after the wraith of Kahn, with the members being crew abour the USS knight a marandia class light cruiser.
As we run the episodes i will put them up on the board for others to use. I like the simpleness of the coda system and fleiability of play. there's a great amount of Fluff to go with the books. So i hope to fil a little of that in with the cultures the group run into.
So until then ahead Warp factor 6 into an uncertian to morrow.
As the systems are quite similar and the fluff parts of the series very good you might consider getting your hands on some older Star Trek material made for the Last Unicorn Game version using the ICON system: There was a dedicated TOS corerulebook and a very good Federation Sourcebook "The Price of Freedom", where all eras of the Fed were covered. At least the second book is available for small money right now at german ebay.de.
Anyway, welcome to the game, these boards and have a lot of fun roleplaying Star Trek!
I think Coda is probably a more ballanced system, overall, and there are plenty of the TOS ships and species in 'Species' and 'starships'. Combined with the wealk of stuff you can find round here, I am sure you will find plenty of resources for you!
But I do agree with looking into getting some of the Older ICON books, there's loads of cool stuff in the material. I prefer the Coda system, but many people prefer Icon, and it's a great system! Well worth getting, for the source material alone!
