    ICON Photon Torpedoes - Intrepid

    Hey,

I was making my own Intrepid Class Starship (Voyager) and I noticed something. The ship (The Intrepid) in the archive (This websites Archives) has it having 2fv and 2ad torpedo launchers (Type II). Now every official Icon ship I can find has 1ad and 1 fv launcher (even the Akira which is supposed to have 15 launchers). Shouldn't the Intrepid only have 1ad and 1fv Photon Torpedo launcher to simulate the 2 in front and 2 in back. The Excelsior has the same forward firing type launchers as the Intrepid and that's what she has.

If Matt Damon is going to be Captain Kirk, does that mean Ben Affleck is gonna be Mr. Spock?

It was probably a lazy thing. It could be done to basicly handle how ships output torpedoes, sort of, but it only worked when we didn't see the launchers too well.

And it's not like the Galaxy was formatted in a longtime, centuries old format.

I'm okay with just statting the accurate number of launchers and giving them a
    spread rating of 2-3.

Actually in ICON the number of tubes only matters as much as the spread of each tube, as in ICON all photon torpedos are assumed to be self guiding and to be able to manuever into the direction of the target from within the movement cell of the firing platform.

Therefore having 15 fv photon torpedo tubes with 1 spread, are just as effective as 3 fv photon torpedo tubes with each having a spread of 5 . . . for each firing is considered a single action . . . if memory serves me

A few people have recommended that I just use the actual number of launchers on another thread.
