Obscure, background ships of the day

And now the first vessel, the Wedge stardrived, hard to see ship in STIII:

    Clarion Class Heavy Cruiser

    Introduced: 2226
Size: 360 meters in length, 136 in width, 20 decks

Hull Index: (Constitution is 14) 12

    Cruising Speed: Warp 5
    Maximum Speed: Warp 6

    Type 1 Deflector Shields, Normal/Maximum Strength, 35 Gigawatts/40 Gigawatts

    2 f, 2 fp, and 2 fs, Type 4 laser cannons, Output, 5 Gigawatts

Two forward Accelerator Cannons, Rate of Fire: 1 per 6 seconds

plus 60 Accelerator Missiles, Yield 46 Megatons

    1 Hangar Deck
    Shuttlecraft: 4 Class E, 1 Cargo

    History:

A heavily used Heavy Cruiser, before the development of the Constitution Class, these Vessels fell out of general use in the 2250s, although a few remained in service until the 2290s, conducting minor missions. The class was an expansion on the older Valiant Class Light Cruiser hull.

    Noteworthy Vessels:

    U.S.S Clarion, NCC-1604, Prototype
U.S.S Bull Run, NCC-1609, Destroyed a Klingon Squadron in 2255, due to the genius tactics of it's captain, Jackson Helson, although it later disappeared soon after
U.S.S Essex, NCC-1697, served many purposes until it's decommissioning in 2290

Operations systems, tractor beams (number/strength), sensors, resilience/power of SIF/IDF, deflector power, long-term operational capacity, passenger capacity (along with what living conditions are like), storage, support craft, industrial capacity, examples of ships and how they functioned in various stressful situations.

    et cetera.
