The Base version is a lightly armed version that can be manufactured by many species or sold by Ferengi arms dealers.

Description notes:
Fleet Data: The Standard Security vessel is equal to that of a Frigate in Federation terms. A general-purpose security vessel used by hundreds of alien species throughout of the entire Federation and beyond. These small vessels do not pose a real problem for the advanced starships of the Federation, Klingon, Cardassian and Romulan Star Empire unless they are in large numbers. A fleet of four ships can defend a single planet easily against the attack of an Advanced Federations (Galaxy-class in war game scenarios).

Many of these vessels are privately owned and maintained as private vessels hired out to defend planets for a price of 2000 bars of Gold Press Latinum a month. This pays for the crew and the expenses of maintaining a combat vessel. The standard security vessel is just a light frigate with moderate shielding. A vessel capable of taking on pirate vessels and raiding craft in head to head fights.

Ferengi arms dealers will broker deals for these vessels. The cost per vessel is 9,000 bars of Gold Press Latinum for the standard vessel (this price dose not cover the cost of brokering the deal with the Ferengi Trader). Each Additional weapon and weapon system installed beyond the standard costs extra Latinum. Heavy plasma weapons, usually installed in the bow are usually a more powerful Plasma weapon used in attack runs on invading starships.

Occasionally provided by the Federation as a defensive vessel when the Federation cannot spend as much time patrolling the systems. Usually these vessels that are provided are refurbished from the starship supply depots that are nearby.

In the mid 24th century the Type I Photon Torpedoes (160 damage) are available to planetary security forces through the Federation suppliers. Ferengi Supplies are limited through weapons dealers wanting to make the scarcity of the torpedoes raising the price.

Few planets have added stealth capabilities to the security vessels capable of seeking up on the invading vessels. Such as an Energy Sheath or Sensor-Reflective Hull. Within the Federation Cloaking Devices are prohibited do to the treaties with the Federation and Romulan Star-Empire.

There are versions of the Security Vessel with the heavy plasma beams below installed in place of the weapons above. Many have the forward weapon replaced with a heavy plasma beam
