Exactly. 2010 gives them three seasons to build up crazy convoluted plotlines before they blow up Earth : P

But wasn't there a series in the making about the development of the Cylons and the beginning of the First War, called Caprica? What became of this?

Caprica's been in development hell for a while, although Entertainment Weekly (or maybe TV Guide, Galactica Station has the story regardless) mentioned that due to the writer's strike, Sci-Fi may be taking a second look at the show.

Of course, now the strike is over (apparently), so who knows what that means. I'm hoping Caprica goes to series. I think with the appropriate build-up to the First Cylon War, it could be a really cool series, and of course certain actors could be brought back to play their relatives/younger versions of themselves on a temporary or regular basis.

    Predictions

Anyone have predictions what will happen in this, their final season?

    I see two scenarios:

    1. First, that Adama and company arrive at Earth and find our tech level is not the same as the original thirteen colonies. Because of this, there is a greater threat to humanity and so instead of staying, the Galactica continues on its way, forever leading the Cylons away from the last hope for humanity.
    2. Second, along the same theme of solidarity as other futuristic shows, there will be a reconciliation between humans and cylons and happiness will ensue.
