    Yeah he also appeared in the X Files too.

    I read about this a few days ago, it's all rather sad really Definatelly better than the guy they replaced him with, he just lacked his class!

    I'm not hugely surprised... despite only being in his 60s, health problems had forced him to leave SG-1 in his already diminished capacity as a regular after season seven.

    That said, one could make a very compelling argument that Hammond was the heart of the show, and Don S. Davis seemed to be a genuinely warm and friendly man. It will be bittersweet to see his final appearance as the character in the forthcoming Continuum movie. I hope they dedicate it to him, if the DVDs haven't already been pressed.

    RIP, Mr. Davis. You'll be missed.
