So Vicki and her mom are at burger king and Vicki gets one of those Happy Meals or whatever they are called...

And she complains when they gave her a Pokemon instead of a Star Trek prize...

Well I know they have (or had) Star Trek glasses. Not sure if there were ever meant to be kid prizes as well. But my wife was amused at her protest. The quote was "She's your daughter".

    I second that
(And I found another reason to deplore the absence of Burger King in France)

Everything old is new again. I used to have two mint and complete sets of the ST III glasses from Burger King when they came out. And then came what my folks called "the garage sale" and I called the "torpedoing of my master plan to secure my retirement while I was off at college" as those beauties were sold for $.25 each...Guess it's never too late to start over I suppose.

Well I did it... I have finally watched the new Trek movie.

I can say that I was pleased after all. I have never liked the idea of iconic characters being re-tooled, but it worked for me.

Now I know that any chance to keep in line with canon is pretty much shot, but this new Trek can certainly go forward with new stories and ideas.
