    Nebula KitBash

So I am starting to get involved on a proposed freeflow Star Trek RPG on the board that I have recently been active on.
The GM wants to do it in a ship of their own in the mid 2350 period.
She would be a kitbash of a Nebula with a Ventral and Dorsal Hull, and 4 nacelles. I am thinking about stating it out. But here is a link to the discussion we had on it.
If one were to believe that the Nebula Class was built as a midway step between the Ambassador and Galaxy, would a double hulled Nebula make sense as a proposed alternative to the Galaxy, but ultimatly fail?

Actually he was talking about something like the regular nebula, but with an ventral engineering hull (as is normal) and a dorsal engineering hull mirroring the position of the ventral, with the nacelles doing the same.

He says he wants it to be like a continuation of the development of the Constellations, which some say would be the Cheyenne, which should have already been built around this time period when he says that she is commissioned (2355)

I can see the reason, if you want to increase power output, or you need the additional hull size for whatever reason. The GM says because they want the vessel to do deep space exploration (with families), or you want part of it to serve in the carrier function.

So the GM has shown us more ship information:

    USS Athena

    Registration Number: NX-51337

    Type: Prototype Explorer

    Assembly Station: Beta Anteres Shipyards

Power Plant: Two 800+ Chochrane warp cores feeding two warp nacelles each. Combined output of both cores is around 11.8 billion gigwatts of energy.

Crew(Maximum required to run the ship): 700
Total crew upon embarking on her initial voyage: 850(Including non-Starfleet scientific personnel)
    Maximum living Capacity: 1500
    Maximum Emergency Capacity: 25,000

    Length: 560.88 meters

    Beam: 398.93 meters

    Height: 170.55 meters

    Mass: 4.275 million metric tons

    Performance-
Maximum Speed: Designed to reach Warp Factor 9.4 and maintain for up to 14 hours. (Not tested)
Maximum Cruising Speed: Designed for Warp 8.5 (not tested)

    Physical Configuration-
One oval saucer section housing most primary systems, crew quarters, primary phaser banks, one forward torpedo launcher and the bridge. Two secondary engineering hulls, one ventral and one dorsal connected to four nacelles arranged symmetrically, two nacelles per engineering hull.

Saucer Separation: The saucer does not separate from the engineering hulls. Instead, due to the dual cores, each of the Engineering hulls was designed to be able to separate from the saucer section, leaving it with half power and retaining at least some warp capability. This is a one time emergency capability to be used only when core ejection is not possible due to systems failure. The engineering hulls are not designed to have independent operational capability when separated and they cannot be reconnected without time in space dock.

Decks: 31 decks total. Decks 1-7 are part of the Dorsal Engineering Section, called Engineering one, and the first warp core, which is almost seven decks tall.

Deck 8 is the Bridge. Decks 9 through 15 house Medical, Life Sciences, and Astrometrics, as well as the single(unmarried) officers quarters, and Guest Quarters. Also on these decks are most of the technical labs and other science labs.

Deck 16 is the massive Fabrication Deck and also houses Forward Torpedo Bay (Torpedo Bay 1) and the Aft Torpedo Bay (Torpedo Bay 2). This deck also houses the primary cargo bays and the two shuttle bays, which are located to the aft/port and aft/starboard sections of the deck.

Recreation, the main mess hall, married and family quarters are located towards the aft sections on decks 17 through 24, along with the Arboretum, which is used to grow fresh foods and for recreation. The Arboretum is maintained by crew members with experience in gardening, or those with a desire to learn.

Decks 25 through 31 are the ventral engineering hull and house the second warp core.

All three hulls house one set of the Athena's advanced impulse drives.

    Science-

The Athena is equipped with the most advanced deep space scanning equipment to date, some of it still experimental.

    Tactical-

Two Torpedo bays, housed in the Fore and Aft of Deck 16.

Eight Phaser Arrays covering all firing arcs. Two aft, six forward. The arrays are the same as those used on the Ambassador Class.

The Athena utilizes upgraded versions of the Ambassador Class' targeting systems. Though for these systems to be utilized fully, they require a skilled tactical officer.

The Athena also possesses remarkable maneuverability. This is partially due to upgraded structural integrity fields(intended for use in extreme spacial environments), and her advanced impulse drives, which are exceptionally powerful. In the hands of a skilled pilot, one might even call the ship “nimble”.

    Shipboard Life:

Family- Because of the limited space within the ship, junior officers and crew who are married are required to share quarters designed for them. Non-starfleet personnel are asked to be able to contribute to the ship in some way, such as teaching, gardening, medical and scientific divisions and so forth. The willingness and ability to do so factors greatly into the likelihood that a crew members application to bring their family.

Crew members who have children share larger quarters with at least one other family, sometimes two, depending on size and regardless of rank. This was implemented in order to allow more families aboard when it it became clear that more crew than expected had families. The Captain has expressed his expectation that all crew with families will work out equitable arrangements in order to keep domestic disputes to a minimum.

Unmarried junior crew and officers share one set of quarters. Senior officers are afforded their own quarters, but they are the same size as the quarters shared by junior officers. Fortunately, the ships living areas are not even close to capacity.
I was thinking about stating this out.
For the spacedock rules, this would be a VERY large 7, or a small 8

ooo, That's a nifty ship. What are the stats on it? Or are there any?

I am slowly working on it. I will get them out as time allows.

On that note, if anyone wants to join this forum rpg, please join us.
