The current episode is a joint operation between Starfleet, the Klingons and the Dosi Confederation. We are hunting some pirates and rebel Cardassians.

In the Gamma Quadrant, the United Federation of Planets finds it exceptionally difficult to locate areas of space which are unoccupied or would welcome their presence on a permanent basis. Space Station K-10 was constructed after the Dominion War ended and with several conditions. Some of the sector’s civilizations agreed to its construction to boost commerce in the area, others were swayed by Starfleet's ability to provide protection and assistance in times of crisis.

A federation hub located in the Idran sector which contains the Gamma Quadrant terminus of the Bajoran wormhole, Space Station K-10 is responsible for the supply and protection of several Federation and allied colonies and a number of scientific and industrial installations.

To assist in the station's exploratory, scientific and defensive endeavours, the Starfleet Nova-class USS Delaware and the Klingon Korbu-class IKS Khan have been assigned as permanent support ships.

There are three seperate duty stations (K10, Khan, Delaware). Each duty station has it's own game master and independent plots. however, many times the storys connect and cross from one station to another.

This is a player-driven game. The players have to put in the work to make a mission run smoothely. The GMs provide a guideline and run the opposition.

We use Stardock as a base for our ship designs and a combination of freeform and simplified CODA rules for in-character actions.

Background info: This game plays in the year 2380, post Dominion War, post Nemesis, post Romulan-Reman conflict. The Federation is at peace with the Klingons and has good relationships with the Romulans and Remans.

Space Station K-10

The story so far:
A new crew arrived at the space station. Shortly after the handover ceremony and after-party the old station commander left abruptly and took a big portion of K-10's crew with her, leaving the space station seriously understaffed. That ship is currently out of contact.

Starfleet Intelligence is using parts of the space station to conduct secret research, most notably research into a new cloaking device. This area of the station is secured by the Starfleet Marine Corps and off limits to most.

Routine maintenance brought some sabotage to light which eventually would have lead back to two infiltrators aboard K-10. The infiltrators, Doppelgängers of First Officer Zoltan and Security Officer Walace, were placed aboard the station by an on-again-off-again ally of the Dominion, the Dosi. An attempt to escape the station was unsuccessful and lead to their arrest. Due to understaffing they were able to carry out a murder-suicide before security had a chance to interrogate them. Taking into account what evidence could be secured, it is safe to say that the Dosi were attempting to steal information on the new cloaking device.

Shortly after that, a Dosi cruiser showed up and came to a halt just outside K-10's defensive perimeter and demanded their "property" be returned to them. K-10's senior crew successfully executed a plan to neutralize the threat lingering close to the station. A shuttle with fake life signs of the infiltrators was sent towards the Dosi cruiser. This shuttle was controlled remotely from K-10's hangar bay. At the same time a scout ship outfitted with a cloaking device penetrated the Dosi cruiser's shields and managed to dock without being detected. Starfleet Marines boarded the shuttle and after numerous fights and with the help of K-10's Chief Science Officer they managed to disable all of the enemy Dosi and rescue one prisoner. The real Zoltan and Walace, both in suspended animation, were transferred to K-10 and are currently being analyzed by medical specialists.

The IKS Khan, a Klingon Korbu-class light cruiser, arrived at K-10. After an exercise that was masked as a hostile situation for both crews, they all convened to an official function in K-10’s Natural Habitat. This intention of this incident was to test the performance and reaction of both crews. This exercise also involved cloaked but friendly Romulan Starbird, much to the Klingon’s disapproval.

Since their arrival at K-10 our Klingon allies have started to transfer much-needed reinforcements and material to K-10. They also began to outfit Secondary Complex C with a garrison which will include a number of fighters for the station’s defence. Soon the Klingon garrison will take over responsibility for some of the stations internal security.

Two days later the USS Delaware, a Starfleet Nova Class Science Vessel, arrived at K-10.

For applicants:
- Available officer positions on the station include Science, Operations, Medical and Marines.
- Also looking for civilian characters (ambassadors, merchants, criminals...).
- Starting players would be Ensigns or Lieutenants. Feel free to attempt to convince me that you deserve a higher rank!
- Some players have been removed from the game due to inactivity or RL reasons and their characters are up for grabs. Modifications are possible and welcome.

Type K deep space stations refer to a general service facility. The needs for commercial, supply, support and diplomatic hubs do not always justify a starbase facility. Furthermore starbases have their own significant logistic demands. Deep Space Stations serve to provide quality services in a reasonable package.
Details will vary from station to station. A particular station may also transform over time as the activity in and around it changes.

IKS Khan

In 2380 the Klingon warship IKS Khan has come into the Gamma Quadrant to lay the ground work for the Klingon Empire. The Empire itself, like other Alpha powers, is starting to recover from the Dominion war of 2375.

The commander la' Mak'Kluj commands a ship of the House of Mak on assignment with the Klingon Defence Forces. In the prior mission they infiltrated and broke up a drug smuggling ring in the Alpha Quadrant.

Their first actions began before leaving DS9 to start their new intelligence network. A pirate operation was identified beyond what the Federation had been guarding when K-10 was alone.
Moving in on their prey the Khan first made an intelligence raid. A four person landing party was sent onto the ion storm swept planet. Overcoming storms, equipment issues and fights with pirate guards the team made it back. Three of the pirate's slaves were rescued.
A blood feud broiled up on the ship, killing one and wounding the other.

Currently:

Now the Khan has moved onto the K-10 station. There they have transferred over Federation replacements and a Klingon fighter & security garrison. The ship transformed itself into a factory. Also an intelligence network is being setup in part through the Ferengi merchant on the K-10 station.
They are now preparing for the actual raid to knock out the pirate base.

A sample of the existing characters include:
- la' Mak'Kluj the ship's commanding officer who is also the local patriarch of the House of Mak.
- Sogh Nuwox Haggen, a Klingon/Betazoid who has been promoted from Science Officer to 3rd Watch Officer
- Doctor Imran Kahn, a Trill on board as a Federation exchange officer, prefer a bow to a phaser

For applicants:
- Preference is for Imperial Klingons. We have some mixed blood and Federation exchange officers already.
- Available officer positions on the ship include Science, Weapons, Engineering, Operations and possibly Security.
- Enlisted positions for Tactical/Security and Medical would also see a lot of action
- This is a House ship so most of the crew should have positive ties to the House of Mak
- Klingon culture will be explored and taught. While useful an in-depth understanding of Star Trek Klingons is not required for play.

The IKS Khan is a custom vessel, Korbu class, made for the game. As an area control vessel its mission includes supporting warships, building resources and other extended non-battle functions. Several text files are supported by ship deck plans. Stories are more action orientated.

USS Delaware

The USS Delaware was commissioned before the outbreak of hostilities with the Dominion. Her original mission was to explore, chart, and investigate lesser travelled sections of Federation Space.

When the war with the Dominion broke out, forces were consolidated and fleets were destroyed and rebuilt in record times. The Delaware gained distinction for three things. First, when she was commissioned she had top of the line sensor suites and that was critical in helping her identify potential threats, feints, and opportunities. Second, she had exceptional medical facilities which were used to save many good men and women that had life threatening injuries. Third, her captain showed to be a man of resolve and bravery. Taking the Delaware into war torn regions of space, fighting the good fight, and sticking around to get survivors gained him the admiration of his crew and the respect of his peers.

Heavily damaged during the war, the Delaware has had superficial repairs and is scheduled for extensive modifications at her next duty station.

Now, the Federation Science vessel has left Deep Space 9 behind and entered the Gamma Quadrant. Her current mission is to support the diplomatic mission of station K-10, to develop and test new technology, and to advance Federation knowledge through exploration. Most recently, they have discovered signs of an unknown civilization on a planet fraught with danger.

Three ensigns, fresh out of the academy, have been working together to learn the ship, meet the crew, and make a positive impact on the ship's mission.

Ensign P'alo, a striking Orion Science officer, Ens. Julius Soong, an extremely bright human Engineer, and Ens. Koren Lanas, a bitter and disillusioned Bajoran security officer.

For applicants:
- Preference is for Federation races.
- Available officer positions on the ship include Science, Operations, Medical, Engineering, and Conn.
- Starting players would be Ensigns, either fresh out of the Academy or with a year or two of experience behind them.

The USS Delaware is a custom Nova-class vessel. It entered the Gamma quadrant with minor modifications, though it is scheduled for refit testing of classified technology.
