Maximum Skill vs Maximum Skill Level

OK. I make a basic character, and the maximum skill level is 6. Later on with advancements, this character with a 12 Int raises his Medicine skill to 12.

His Medicine skill is +15 (without affinities or any Traits affecting it), correct?

Yep, 12 ranks in the skill plus the Int modifier is +15

Plus whatever other modifiers he brings to the table. Specialization helps occasionally, many professional abilities off synergy bonuses, that sort of thing.

But yes, K.G. is correct, the "maximum skill level" referred to in the books is simply the number of skill ranks.

OK. That was how I was going to rule it myself, but I like having it verified.

    Thanks.
