Here's some more of my study work. This weekend I get the laptop mentioned in the text out of storage and I can start for real... Decks 2 and 5 are work I found on the Net, but I'm just using them as a basis.

    Very cool Owen.

Engineering added to the Daedalus, pod diagramme added. I'm assuming the NX-01 style pods and uniforms remain in service through the Romulan War. I'm really enjoying this project.

    With the crew spaces depicted:
    Deck 2 - 3x1+10x2=23
    Deck 3 - 2x1+10x4=42
    Deck 7 - 18x2+10x4=76
    Deck 8 - 2x1+10x4=42
    Deck 9 - 2x1+10x4=42
    Deck 11 - 2x1+10x4=42

Gives us berthing spaces for a total of 268 crew and officers. Enough for a standard crew of 240 plus some transient spaces. Having the Ratings sleep in double bunks with 4 crew to a cabin doesn't sound too bad. When I was in the Infantry, we slept in bunks with 50 or so to a wing of an H-hut wasn't too uncomfortable. Luckily it was just weekends and summers, but the guys in Reg Force had it a lot better.

OK, preliminary layout is done. It should be enough for the good Commodore to run his adventure, so I won't rush to do the final plans. Enjoy!

Now, how about you guys posting some of your own plans. They don't have to be polished or publishable, just sketches will do. Post away!

Any chance you'd do a version with an NX class type bridge?

Simple enough... Like the TOS bridge, it requires rotating it 36 degrees to get the turbolift to line up.

OK, transporters and lifeboats added and crew spaces adjusted:

    Deck 2 - 3x1+10x2=23
    Deck 3 - 2x1+10x4=42
    Deck 7 - 18x1+10x4=58
    Deck 8 - 2x1+10x4=42
    Deck 9 - 2x1+10x4=42
    Deck 11 - 2x1+10x4=42
    Total= 250

Didn't get the laptop today, will do it tomorrow, and do up the final plans on the CAD system.

Been filling in empty areas with FJ-type details and some bits scanned from FJ deckplans.

    Owen?

    These are absolutely gorgeous!

If you're still feeling inspired, can I make a request?

What about similar floorplans for the Galileo 5-type shuttles features in Star Trek V (The Abomination)? Yes, yes; the film was stinky, but I thought the shuttles were interesting. And given their use on-screen as troop carriers for the planetary assault, it seems likely that there would be different internal designs, too, as you've done for your other shuttle plans.

Oh, and one thing I like about your shuttle designs is the inclusion of an actual *airlock*, something sorely lacking in the TOS "flying lunchbox" designs. Kudos.
