Yes, like the bad cliche that I am I'm back to haunt you for a fourth year!

One of the hats I wear is as the producer of the Twelve Trek Days of Christmas, a major collaborative project between a wide variety of Star Trek fan groups to celebrate the season of goodwill and giving. It’s primarily a fun activity *by* Star Trek fans, *for* Star Trek fans however there can be no doubt that it not only generates a lot of publicity for the participants but creates and maintains good relations between the groups. It certainly has for me! I have made some great friends and struck up some valuable acquaintances with this event.

Looking back now over the last three years of the Twelve Trek Days of Christmas is uplifting in that there were some real achievements amongst them. Browsing through the list on our pitch Blog, you'll see some flamin' good work, some of it individual efforts by people who have used the TTDoC as an event to launch their 'fan careers' but most of them group efforts.

I'll not labour the point but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I feel responsible for the Days in previous years that I have failed to deliver on. Therefore I've had a re-think about how we are going to deliver the content this year.

The 'prime deliverable' for this event is going to be a dozen fanzines, spread over the course of the Twelve Trek Days - actually 24 days - in conjunction with eBook publishing as well as pdf books this year.

One of the staples from previous years is a listing that I try to do that covers Star trek gaming - this was last years. I don't just cover computer gaming but everything from Klin-Za to Boffer Batleths! What I'm looking for are two things...

  • names and links to anything you can see that I missed last year
  • I'd specifically like a two page article from someone knowledgeable, about the current state of Star Trek Table Top gaming, a side of Trek gaming that has gobbins of material created but has never got the publicity it deserves.

I'm also still looking for short stories and artwork, we've got our quota of novels for this year. However you could contribute anything that is fan-made, from knitting or crochet patterns to working Transporter plans! It could be something old or something new, an appropriation, a pastiche, a satire or an Andorian Space Opera! Don't be shy, I have niches for small contributions as well as pedestals for the major league productions. Do whatever you feel comfortable with, or as some have in previous years, really push the envelope! Above all though – have fun!
