All Lifeboats/Escape pods have a locator beacon with a 5 light year range with a duration (based on a small fusion reactor) equal to lifeboat/escape pod type (in years ) (TYPE 1=0ne year, TYPE 2= Two years, etc.)

• 2 Mylar blankets per person
• 3 one liter water bottles per person
• 1 survival knife per person
• one hot and one cold weather suit per person
• one small basic repair kit
• one survival manual per 4 persons
• one scanner or tricorder per 4 persons (issued by era)
• one sidearm per 4 persons (Sidearm is usually issued by era and are a pistol type. Example: ENT=phase pistol, TOS=Type 2 phaser, etc.)
• one communicator per person (usually issued prior to TNG era)

Great work.

The only change I would make would be increase the food rations. In the episode Angle One the escape pods were a drift for months and I would increase the food rations to at least to several months.

Duration/Consumables: This was left vague because, I was considering Janeways line in one of the VOY episodes about ration packs (because they had to conserve replicator energy). I would assume that a lifeboat would use battery power for heat, light, etc.

More likely a small fusion reactor of some kind lasting several years producing a emergancy locater beacon that can be detecting maybe quarter of a sector away. But the fuel would be sufficiently enought to eject from the ship, set a course with a few course checking and landing on the surface of a planet and a little left over.

LIfepods would have the list of the following as ninimom
food for the number of people the escape pod is rated for
an emergancy medical kit for each passenger
blankes
survival suit (cold weather and hot weather)
other equipment one per pod
Phaser/disruptor
knife
survival manual
and few other pieces of equipment that I am forgetting about
