Just taking a survey, hopefully getting one by Christmas.
More polls soon as I narrow things down a bit.
PALM and PALM clones (Palm M series, Sony CLIE, etc.)
PocketPC/WinCE clones (Toshiba PocketPC, Compaq IPAQ, etc.)

Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

I have a good friend who chants the virtues of her Handspring Visor. I almost bought one last year, before my wife got a laptop for work (which I use for writing when she's not using it, which is rather often).

Go with the CLIE -- both my wife and I have one. Sony's computer products are excellent.

Okay, as one of the Terminally Clueless, I am still trying to figure out the uses of these little doohickeys.
So, for those of you who Know and Love the puppies, what do you do with them?
Many thanks![]()

the Palm OS is the best OS ever made next to DOS. I hate Windows OS and hate the Apple OS even more. Get either a Palm i705 or a new Handspring. They are durable, powerful and better then anything HP can give out. Sony Clies are nice as well, just stick with Palm OS.

I take notes from my classes in it, store some of the reading assignments, when I can get them. It's a to do list & appointment keeper -- I normally don't need 'em, but it's been really useful. Address book. Calculator. Some can be turned into cell phones, as well as do email.Originally posted by Ramage

I prefer my laptop for any kind of work above and beyond notes, etc. but the Clie works great for all that "don't need to lug a laptop around" stuff from owrk or school.

Okay, so 6 of you prefer Palm-powered PDA, and only 1 voted PocketPC-powered PDA. Like PC over Mac, or is that the other way around?![]()
Oh, and gang, this is just a general question. I am sure to ask which brand and model in the forthcoming poll.
