    History:

The Pyrenes was used as one of the first vessels to have Quantum Slipstream Drive, or "Slip Drive", and with it's advanced sensors, laboratories, and combat capabilities, was used as a fleet combat vessel, as well as a lone, long-range exploration vessel. the Pyrenes vessels were used for several decades, well into the 2490s, when they were retired, due to lagging, both in Drive, and in Combat, compared to the newer, Third-Generation Slip-Drive vessels.

Noteworthy Vessels/Encounters: U.S.S Pyrenes, Prototype, U.S.S Vitrios, scrapped after a skirmish with Allied Worlds vessels in 2482, U.S.S St. Croix, scouted the edge of the Nirias Empire in the distant Gamme Quadrant in 2442, transmitted data back to Starfleet, leading to orders to stay away from their region of space.

    History:

The Type 13 Shuttlecraft became the new standard shuttlecraft used by Starfleet, which, along with the Type 12, replaced older shuttles and became commonly carried aboard Starships, with far more advanced systems than any previous shuttle, although still not large enough to carry the SLipstream Drive.
In the 2490s, the Type 13s were getting outdated, so they were replaced with the improved Type 16s and Type 18As, used in their final days as target practice, or as testing ships for the most radical experiments.
