Actual tech details from the episodes and movies

Shields on a Galaxy Class require 400 GJs to knock down, plus, in "Yesterday's Enterprise", the Ent-C was referred to as having shields roughly half the strength of the Enterprise 1701-D, which of course, means that it can withstand around 200 before it's shields collapse.

From this, I backteched the shields to get the Excelsior's (160), the Constellation's (140), the Constitution and Enterprise's (125) the Miranda's (100), and the early TOS Pilot Const's (75).

...Plus, there are Types VI-VIII torpedoes that go through the movies, and Mark IXs' in some late TNG-era stuff (I think, probably a 6th season DS9).

...Also, someone actually gave shields type numbers, implying that there were at least four types of deflector shields (this was in Gambit, part I), and the Type 4 was an older, moderately strong generator.

...One more thing, in DS9's "Valiant" episode, someone implies that Warp Drives go up to a Class M, and Simon and Schuster's "Starship Creator" implies something way different; that there are at least 13 numbered types of warp drive, plus a class K and XP.

...More interesting details here will pop up shortly.

Alternately, they could mean generating their fields in different ways.

Yeah, maybe. I'm not totally sure about that, but it's not that bad an assumption, either.

Also, I think (probably in some DS9, or something) that there was some line that implied that there was at least Five types of Disruptors, and in "For the Uniform" (or some other, close-by episode...) there were around eight types of Transporter (not counting cargo/emergency ones...).

...One of these days, I'm going to do some speculation on the development dates, and maybe a few other things, for these torpedoes, transporters, and other things...

Kassidy's ship had Mark V transporters. That could be it.

Okay, found it, and the Mark VI and VII are up too, taking data from those things,
and putting data for them, and other, earlier systems:

    Mark I: 2180
    Mark II: 2204
    Mark III: 2242
    Mark IV: 2269
    Mark V: 2325
    Mark VI: 2346
Mark VII (Can Transport unstable biomatter): 2363
Mark VIII (Probably also can, too...): 2368
    Mark IX (Probably...): 2372

And now, here are some dates for the Disruptors:

    System 1: 2162
    System 2: 2202
    System 3: 2224
    System 4: 2245
    System 5: 2268
    System 6: 2284
    System 7: 2308
    System 8: 2332
    System 9: 2349
    System 10: 2371

...And the dates for the Torpedoes:

    Mark I: 2215
    Mark II: 2222
    Mark III: 2224
    Mark IV: 2243
    Mark V: 2255
    Mark VI: 2271
    Mark VII: 2275
    Mark VIII: 2286
    Mark IX: 2352

    ...And finally, the Shields!

    Type 1: 2186
    Type 2: 2212
    Type 3: 2244
    Type 4: 2269
    Type 5: 2315
    Type 6: 2320
    Type 7: 2348-2349
    Type 8: 2355
    Type 9: 2369
    Type 10: 2370
    Type 11: 2373
    Type 12: 2384

Oh, by the way, this (interesting) intricate little clump of dates of mine is my 500th post! Yay, hooray!!! 500 posts of statting up ships, doing pictures, and looking at data, and such! Hopefully, anything I can create (or locate) will be just as nifty, fascinating and strange as what I've done in the past!

...Oh yeah, some complete ship data files (maybe more system dates) will come up soon, and stuff.
