I have to admit, I didn't have a lot of hope for this book, since two of the three novellas were about ideas that didn't do a lot for me (an alternate "Best of Both Worlds" where Picard wasn't recovered, and a Sulu story where Vulcan has just been contacted that just didn't sound like it was my speed).

Then there was "Honor in the Night." It's a story about Nilz Baris and Arne Darvin from "The Trouble With Tribbles"...and it's absolutley dynamite! I will not spoil it here, but it did something I thought impossible based on the episode it extrapolates from: It made me like Nilz Baris. A lot. A multi-era story spanning over 100 years, it features a lot of neat stuff written by someone who clearly loves the characters and the universe, "Honor in the Night" brings back Koloth and Korax, as well as Kang, Kor, Kruge, and a host of other Klingons (some better known than others) as familiar events unfold in somewhat different ways.

I had a blast with this one, folks, and I think you will too.
