There are time for a overhaul of the political forum, and for the registration process. These are the changes that are planned. The first point on the the list will be a major change, and before implementing it I want to give everyone a chance to ask question about it and give their thoughts and opinions.

An initial question to all of you; if you wasn't already a member, from how you perceive the description below, would a system like that make you hesitant to register? Or would it maybe be perceived as something positive?

Questions and comments on the other points are of course welcomed as well.

1. "Greeting and human verification area"
A forum where new registrants are limited to, have to answer a few questions, and more or less show that they are human. They are limited to the threads they have started themselves. Then they can be moved from the unverified group to the normal registered group.

Beside being a verification process, by having the questions being related to Trek, LotR and roleplaying, it can be used to break the ice a bit and help the new member to feel welcomed.

2. Simplifying the rules of the political forum to a "be nice" rule, and one sticky thread for dropping short thoughts and links.

3. Non gaming signatures are welcome as long they are respectful of other members. We have different views on the world, may it be politic or faith; we are of different ethnicities, cultures and genders. Showing others who we are are acceptable. We might think an opinion is stupid, but being stupid is not in itself unacceptable.

This mean that political and religious (including atheistic and agnostic) signatures are acceptable if it is from the point of showing who you are; but not if it is from the point of what others should think.

4. Not a rule change, but a clarification. Talking politics from a Trek or LotR point of view is perfectly acceptable. It is the opinions about the real life modern day politics that are to be kept to the lounge.
