    RIP author Harry Harrison

Just been reading about the loss of one of my favorite authors from childhood...

Unfortunately, Harry Harrison, creator of the Stainless Steel Rat novels and many others, including the 'Soylent Green' story "Make Room! Make Room!" has left us. He was 87.

Condolences to his family and friends.

87 years old is a good run, I'd say.

I'm glad he left such a large number of great novels behind.

In other news, I think I'm going to have to reread all of the SSR books. It's been a while.
"Guy, you have a last name."
"Do I?! DO I?! For all you know, I'm 'Crewman Number Six'!"

    My half-assed d20 Trek homebrew.

The first few SSR novels were fun, but after that he phoned them in. I'm fonder of the Deathworld trilogy, especially the first book. What a lot of people don't know is Harry started out as an artist for E.C. comics...
