Modified Ambassador Class
Here is something I fussed with on Thanksgiving Day. I made modifications to the Ambassador mostly to the Phaser Array.
This re-envisioned version of the Ambassador-class changes little in overall design with the exception of the Phasers and Warp Core. This version allows the Ambassador-class to fire multiple shot with it Phaser Arrays where the original version fired once from all the phasers. The ship now has five multiple Phaser Arrays instead of eight single shot arrays with nearly double the fire power being fire if there is enough power available. The upgrade to the warp engine is to a give the ship a touch more power to work with. Much of the ship is the same as before but I was mainly concerned with the lack of weapons fire and power generation for a combat vessel. I could also see the modifications of the shields, sensor and warp drive generating a new complete vessels but this is just an updating to the old Ambassador-class starship.
Personally, I think that if the Enterprise-C was more like this version, the battle of Nerendra III would have turned out different. The impressive fire power could put out more fire on the Romulan Starship from a single weapons array than firing from multiple arrays. This Ambassador-class has even more ability to produce power to fire the weapons targeting the aggressive vessels. I would have increased the ships shields up to 1000 protection but maybe a future version I will upgrade the Phaser Arrays to Type IX and shields to protection 1000 and give it an armor coating.
The Ambassador-class has retained the classic looks of the Constitution-class starships. The future version of the line of vessel would increase the vessel to a similar length version of the Galaxy-class. I would like to install the vessel with Quantum torpedoes and a faster warp drive system, even more powerful shielding and armor for a vessel circa 2390’s or 2440’s. The vessel would also have an increased crew compacity by ten to twenty percent. Of course this is a future project I have to think some more on.
