    Prime Teams?

Has anyone tried introducing the Prime Directive concept of Prime Teams into a non-PD Trek campaign? You know, a dedictaed IMF-style special-mission force of 4-8 people? Similar concepts are the Engineering-specialised group in the Starfleet Corps of Engineers books or the Hazard Teams in the on-line computer games. Kinda like Thunderbirds with phasers. I could see a basic team made up of a Command officer, a Sciences officer, an engineer and an RRT in a uprated runabout, complete with Insurrection-type cloaking suits, STV:TFF-style personal energy shields, a photorp module and whatever other goodies you can come up with. Could be fun.

When my game *sigh* folded, that was what I was working towards. I had a small crew of 5, (with only three of us playing), with their own specially modified ship, basicially doing "troubleshooting" jobs for Starfleet.

It was going well until they were ordered to undertake a couple missions of dubious morality in a row, had Bajoran Orb experiences, and discovered a shipful of people someone in SFI had allowed to die in order to research a WMD.

When we left them, they were seriously considering destroying the research and going rogue.

I've done up a conversion of the Prime Team given in the original TFG Prime Directive rulebook, the Black Eagles.

    http://www.coldnorth.com/owen/game/s...ation/crew.htm

In the second URL, the characters are linked from the Cretok Nor crew list under Starfleet Characters. These are converted using a combination of John Stanford's conversion tables and those from the original Trek-RPG site, with some changes. Rather than using the tables' values for converting skill levels, I found that the PD skill levels translated across with no need to convert. I also tinkered with the characters' details to better fir the ICON system and my vision of Star Trek, as noted on the character pages.

I hope these will be of some use to some of you.

No, I just added them as background for my Cretok Nor/Rising Sun campaign.

I ahve not done this, but I would like to. My idea was to a Sector Prime Team (in Coda Trek) that are ostensibly assigned to a Starbase, but interact with the ships in the area more than the crew of, say, DS9 would.
