Something interesting happened, but then again it is normal for player characters to do, the players decided to take the plot away from where I the game manager had thought it would go.
The game started with the Tutuila escorting a Grizzelan freighter to the Talarian Republic border (by way of Federation space, and unclaimed space) on a pre-arranged "human"itarian mission to bring food stuffs to the Bajorans on Valo II from Grazer and the system which the Tutuila calls its home port (a Grazerite colony I have named Oezo). The freighter would go through the Talarian Republic which would reduce transit time; and which diplomats had prearranged. The Tutuila and the Grizzelan freighter made it to the rendezvous point without any difficulties that they were aware of, but began to be followed by a cloaked Romulan ship who had not seen the particular modification of the Berlin Class Cutter before so began to do what subs in the Cold War did and begin to collect information on the Tutuila. At the Talarian Republic border, the Talarian Warship which was suppose to meet them there wasn't present; so both the Tutuila and the Grizzelan freighter weighted an additional three days until the Warship arrived. The Talarian Warship refused to communicate with the Tutuila and would only speak to the Grizzelan representative (who was hibernating). The Grizzelan freighter crew (contracted mariners of various species), woke up the lone Grizzelan crewmember (and the ships lone commissioned officer from Grizzela), which lead to one of them being eaten (happened off screen) but who was then able to talk to the Talarians and have the Talarian Warship captain accept the pre-arranged diplomacy approved transit, and both ships departed deeper into Talarian space, leaving the Tutuila at the border.
The Tutuila, rather than returning back to their homeport (which I had planned for) decided to return to the area of space between Federation space and the Herdonian area of control (where their previous combat with the Talarians occurred). While transiting they tripped an "Easter egg" and got a brief amount of UHF transmission which ended up being of Earth origin. Additionally, the cloaked Romulan ship had ventured closer to the Tutuila, whose extra strengthed sensors where able to detect the incoming scans of the cloaked vessel; at which point hte Tutuila was able to positively identify the scans as being of Romulan origin. Being in part of the sector that was neither Federation or Talarian, the cloaked vessel didn't appear to be in violation of anything the Tutuila left the Romulans alone. The Romulans, upon noticing that they had been detected where sufficiently spooked to delay their data gathering and gave the Tutuila a wide berth.
Continuing along their transit to the area where they formerly fought the Talarians (passing by two of the smaller Talarian warships which the Tutuila fought before (since repaired in space) heading back to Talarian space with freighter hulks in tow), two of the larger Talarian Warships came at their maximum speed and hailed the Tutuila and demand they stop and be boarded and taken into custody for assisting (from the Talarian point of view) pirates. The Tutuila being able to outrun the Talarians (maximum sustained warp for the Tutuila is 8, where as the Talarians is 4.8 (maximum warp for Tutuila is 9, and the Talarians 6.4)), listened to the charges, but being in non-Federation and non-Talarian space, and having been cleared of wrong doing via the findings of an off-screen Federation board of inquiry (who reviewed the reasoning of the ship to aid the freighter in an earlier gaming session), told the Talarians that they would not stop and be taken into Talarian custody and decided to make way to Herdonian space. Communicating with the Herdonians that they were on their way the they agreed to allow the Tutuila safety in their space, and dispatched some of their ships from their Defense Force (equipped with older Federation vessels, and Federation trained, but no longer under Federation tutelage) to ensure that the Talarians wouldn't come into their space.
As soon as the Talarians saw the Herdonian ships approaching (One Miranda, and two Saladin) the two Talarian warships stopped their pursuit and stopped at the edge of Herdonian controlled space. The Herdonian ships escorted the Tutuila to their primary world Hearth, where the Tutuila was invited to a dinner reception hosted on the Herdonian Miranda and to be attended by the Herdonian Defense Force Commander and Vice Commander (both rear admirals). At the reception, some of the senior staff of the Tutuila mentioned meat, which given the Herdonian past history of being killed for meat, which lead them to not be invited to the later business meeting with the rear admirals and diplomatically escorted back to the transporter room to be beamed back to the Tutuila (where a new recruit in an attempt to improve a system inadvertently got a SIF generator to go offline). At the business meeting, the rear admirals thanked the remaining Tutuila senior staff in attempting to come to the aid of the Herdonians who ended up being recaptured and sent back to the Talarian Republic, even if the attempt was unsuccessful. The captain of the Tutuila attempted to convince that Herdonians that unlike her predecessors, she would attempt to be more active in the defense of Herdonians (although reminded by her Executive Officer that the Federation does not interfere in bilateral relations between space faring species unless invited to or when the Federation is effected), to which the Herdonians were not convinced. The Herdonians were able to emotionally impact the Tutuila's Captain by showing them images of what the Talarians would do to them if the Talarians had their way (displaying a video of Talarians slaughtering Herdonian children for the equivalent of veal, and showing them a wanted poster put out by the Talarians awarding several slips of gold pressed latinum up to a bar of gold pressed latinum for returning of Herdonian individuals to Talarian control), to which the Tutuila's Captain restated her personal want to assist Herdonians that she could assist if the need arises. The Herdonian admirals were convinced of her sincerity but also wary given post Federation official statements of not wanting to interfere with bilateral inter-species relations which do not directly involve the Federation. The Tutuila's Executive Officer chimed in, that as spacefaring customs dictate, the Tutuila would come to the assistance of Herdonians who request assistance (or any ship in distress), but could not be directly involved in Herdonian efforts in liberating individuals of their species who are still in captivity (for whatever the purpose (primarily for slaughter for meat)), to which the Herdonian admirals likened their efforts of liberating their captive species individuals to the ant-slavery patrols in Earth's past (West Africa Squadron, African Slave Trade Patrol). Being understanding of the Herdonian plight, the XO stated that the Tutuila, a Starfleet ship, could not directly assist Herdonian privateers who were actively attempting Herdonian liberation (having been made aware by the Herdonian admirals of a bounty placed upon the Tutuila for their capture by the Talarians (a significant amount of bars of gold pressed latinum)), but can monitor them if they need assistance. One admiral did not want to provide the Tutuila the list of active letters of marque issued in case the list be leaked and the active ships be made targets, however the majority of Herdonian leadership present saw the Tutuila as an ally given their past attempt to aid Herdonians in distress and placed trust in the Tutuila's captain to ensure that the list remain secret, and provided a copy of the active letters of marque.
Next game will occur at the end of next game, and since the number of active players is down to three, the group is seeking new active players.

So the Tutuila departed Herdonian space, and evaded the three Talarian ships patrolling the area around Herdonian space, with one of the Talarian ships getting close enough to fire one missile, which missed. Escaping that close call, a Orion ship attempting to collect the bounty attacked the Tutuila, launching two attack drones in the attempt. Ultimately, the Tutuila dispatched all three vessels, and continued back into Federation space.

In the most recent session, the Tutuila returned back to its homeport, and resupplied and repaired from their previous encounter. The ship's Captain went to speak to the sector's assigned Federation Diplomatic Corps Envoy to see if she can persuade her to assist the Herdonians more, to which the Envoy said she wanted to help, but that as the official representative of the Federation that they maintained a policy of not wanting to not agitate the Talarians while condemning Talarian subjecting other sentient species to servitude or as use for food.
While at its homeport, the Tutuila received an additional crewmember, an NPC engineer CPO. Therefor the ships complement is made up of 5 Officers (1 LT, 1 LTJG, 3 ENS), 2 Chief Petty Officers, 6 Petty Officers, 13 Junior Enlisted.
The Helena arrived at the Tutuila's homeport, and said it would make a seven day port call before continuing on its mission to settle 500 colonists. In the meantime the Tutuila departed to conduct patrol of the sector, and half way out its planned course, it received a distress call.

Game ends, with the ship about to divert to render aid.
One other person has shown interest in joining the group.

Since the previous session, the ship gained two more officers, bringing the ships complement to 7 Officers (1 LT, 3 LTJG, 3 ENS), 2 Chief Petty Officers, 6 Petty Officers, and 13 Junior Enlisted. The two new PCs were ret-conned to have come aboard and joined the crew when the ship was last at its home port.
It was a rather eventful game, as the Tutuila was responding to a distress call. A call which reported that a mining ship was attacked by slavers, and a portion of the ships crew had made it onto an asteroid they were mining, and were holding out until help arrived. The game restarted with the Tutuila at the edge of a the star's planetary nebula (it had long ago went nova, having created the planetary nebula and reduced its luminosity in order to make the nebula easily visible). The nebula also interefered with sensors, reducing sensor ability to gain high-definition outside of 400,000 KM. As going impulse speeds (the safe route) would take longer than the survivors had reported had life support, the Tutuila warped through the planetary nebula, using a probe it launched in advance in order to attempt to avoid dangerous material within the nebula, loosing one probe in the process (reducing the probe count to 9 out of 10 possible).
Upon reaching the area where the distress signal originated the Tutuila found a size 5 ship orbiting the asteroid reported in the distress signal, as well as a debris cloud of what they could only assume was a mining ship. Coming in on the opposite side of the asteroid, they were able to avoid being detected by the size 5 ship. They were able to make a very high definition passive sensor reading of the asteroid and determine that there were 16 Nauscicaans and 1 Orion attempting to gain access to a cavern with 35 life signs (including that of a human). The cavern had collapsed tunnels leading to it, and had transport inhibitors set up, in order to defend themselves.
The Tutuila then went about attempting to plan a rescue, and decided on beaming up as many of the Nauscicaans as possible (8 the number of pads on their single personnel transporter). By beaming up the Nauscicaans they were able to beam them up naked, and without weapons; however, the Nauscicaans were able to get a jump on the security team (including the XO/Tactical/Security Officer) and lunge their naked bodies at the awaiting officers (a grapple, all but one was successful). The security team (who were the entirety (minus one on the bridge) of the ships small Tactical/Security Department)), responded by heavily stunning all the unarmed Nauscicaans, including the one who successfully grappled one of the security team. Then they proceeded to hog tie them (the XO/Tactical/Security Officer had a background as a calf rider and roper in his youth) and site to site transport them into the brig.
By doing so they left 8 Nauscicaans and 1 Orion on the asteroid, and alerted the size 5 vessel of their presence. This lead to a space battle, where the size 5 vessel was able to get the first shot in, as they chased each other around the asteroid. Trading shots, with the Tutuila expending 1 torpedo (leaving 12 out of a possible 20 total), the Tutuila was able to destroy the size 5 vessels rear shields and phaser array, while the size 5 vessel was able to heavily damage one of Tutuilas two warp nacelles. The size 5 vessel then settled over the site of the individuals within the asteroid, beamed over their compatriots, and threatened to begin bombarding the asteroid and thus killing the 35 individuals still in the asteroid. The Tutuila offered to let them go, if they released all their captives, to which the received a response of laughter.
After a long stand off, the Tutuila was able to quickly manuever behind the size 5 vessel and target and destroy the remaining weapon systems of the size 5 vessel (a Cardassian disruptor and their torpedo launchers); unable to fight back, the size 5 vessel successfully warped away (rolling 6 on their drama die and regular die) along with 24 captives aboard and minus the 8 Nauscicaans the Tutuila had captured. This left the Tutuila alone and able to repair and rescue the miners.

This game marked the first time we used a grid map for space combat, and the first time there was non-space combat.
The two new players said they would return, and one more person signed up via meetup.com.

The Tutuila made repairs, and recovered the remains of twelve of the Jade Mammoth's crew that were floating in space, leaving a total of 30 unaccounted for (of whom they assume 24 are on the size 5 ship that they engaged with during the previous game.
The Nauscicaans that were captured claimed to be rescuers, a lie which the interrogating PC didn't fall for, and stated that between rescues they have been to a number of worlds. Due to infighting due to the interrogating PC offering them a prisoners dilemma they were kept under sedation for the remainder of the time aboard the Tutuila.
With repairs completed, the Tutuila warped out of the nebula detected something non-natural while they warped by, losing no probes in the process. With the detection of a non-rock in the nebula they launched a probe at where they found it, and found the ship that they believed had escaped. The ship upon being found, destroyed the probe.
Waiting for the USS Sardari, an up-gunned Miranda-class cruiser, they launched probes to create a sensor network around the nebula, which they could not peer into due to the nebula interfering with sensors, but with the hope of detecting the ship escaping, which they did. Warping out, the Sardari and Tutuila gave chase, with it being calculated that both ships will overtake the size 5 vessel in a days time.
Meanwhile the Helena had departed the Oezo system destined to start a new colony.

This will be the last game in a while with future game dates being 13April and 20April due to obligations for myself and other players.

So the game occurred, and tax day fast approaching, with one person calling off the day before, and another not showing up at all, leaving only three players to do all the heavy lifting. In the time since the last game, all the ships crew have been stat'd out and thus made more whole than the brief character summary that they once were with generic stats.
So with the Sardari alongside the Tutuila, the two Federation ships give chase to the size 5 vessel. While warping towards the ship with twenty four miners and mining-ship crew captive, the PCs work with the NPCs aboard the Sardari to plan what they will do when they finally intercept the size 5 vessel. Determining both ships max speed exceeds the size 5 vessels max speed that they will have the Sardari speed up in front of the size 5 vessel and they will stay behind the vessel, with vertical separation to ensure no accidental collisions/ramming occur. Upon doing so they will attempt to negotiate the miners release, and if that fails, strike the ship, lower the ship's shields and board the vessel to capture it, and save the miners.
Upon reaching maximum torpedo range, they initial their movement, with the Sardari moving ahead of the size 5 vessel to a point ahead of the size 5 vessel at maximum torpedo range, and the Tutuila staying behind. Seeing this, the size 5 vessel raises shields and hails both ships. Although the Sardari has higher ranked characters, and a larger ship, to give the PCs the spotlight, the Sardari allows that Tutuila to respond. The ship begins by instructing the Federation ships to back down as they are transporting indentured servants who will work off their debt, to which the Tutuila's Captain responded that the ship was carrying individuals under Federation protection and if they were released safely that the size 5 vessel can leave without further harm done to it. The ship responds that if the Federation ships do not end their pursuit that they are willing to eject two of their indentured servants, showing two of the miners next to two different open cargo bay doors near their containment fields. The Tutuila's Captain responded that if the miners were not released, that the Federation ships will be forced to defend the miners; to which the size 5 vessel said that if the debt owed by the miners were paid off that they would be willing to release the miners. With the amount being far higher than what both ships have available, the Tutuila ended communications. This initiated combat.
Both ships increased their speed and ended in point blank range, while all ships were at warp. The Size 5 vessel fired first at the Sardari, missing.
The Tutuila fired, hitting the Size 5 vessel. The Sardari with its six rear facing torpedo launchers, fired a full volley, taking down the forward shields, and destroying the size 5 vessels warp engine and torpedo launchers. With its warp field failing due to lack of power, they shove two miners out into space. Both the Tutuila and Sardari, matching the warp coasting and slowing size 5 vessels speed, within a matter of second they both successfully beam aboard the ejected miners (who both suffered a few space exposure symptoms).
Still matching the slowing size 5 vessels speed, the Tutuila and Sardari both fire again, in the process destroying the size 5 vessel's communication array, and getting the boarding parties ready for assault. Unable to fire back, and with the Sardari's torpedoes slamming into their ship, the crew is busy attempting to keep their ship together, with 40% of the crew killed including their captain.
With the Tutuila taking down the size 5 vessels rear shields, both ships transport boarding parties over to the size 5 vessel, are able to stun the remaining crewmembers, or beam the rest directly into the Sardari's brigs. With the vessel under their control, their two initial attempts to release the twenty-two remaining detained miners prove unsuccessful. The failed attempts initiating a screen on the control panel that turns off the independent power systems that feed the brigs force fields, transport inhibitors, sleep deprivation devices, and life support systems. Yet, upon closer inspection, they found a second life support system, an oddity.
So that's where that game sessions ends.

So yesterday's game had the first crew death, the ship's Yeoman.

So the game started of with the ship still trying to save the remaining Jade Mammoth crewmembers aboard the size V vessel. With a great search role made, they were able to find an isolinear chip which deactivated the brig. The Sardari took the surviving Jade Mammoth crew and the captured crewmembers of the Size V vessel, and began to repair the vessel for movement to Starbase 535, where the Size V vessels crew will be adjudicated.

Taking on probes and torpedoes supplied by the Sardari, the ship left to escort the Helena on its colonization mission, rendezvousing with them "west" of the Oezo system, leading to a largely non-eventful 32 day escort. The only event was finding a lifepod sized debris field with a corpse of a Tzenkethi, which had a sub-dermal chip indicating the individual had been sold four times; the body also showed signs of recovering from multiple injuries consistent with being beaten.

Upon reaching the destination, the Tutuila departed the Helena, and began a long deserved return to their homeport of Oezo. A day out from the system, travelling at their maximum sustained (they like doing that, Warp 8 everywhere (and before the warp 5 restriction (still a couple years away in game))), the ship picked up a lower powered radio distress signal. The repeating distress signal stated that the ship had Herdonians, and were surviving on bare minimums. Keeping with General Order 6, the Tutuila responded. Scanning the ship the only powered areas were the multiple emergency shelters with multiple Herdonian life signs in the shelters. Moving to 1 Km from the ship, a low ranking away team was sent over, beaming outside one of the shelters. Beaming over in environmental suits, they found themselves in a vacuum in a hallway. With no power going to the door panel, and no response when they knocked on the door to the emergency shelter, they had the Tutuila beam in a strobe and a com badge, and hailed it. No response was received.
Beaming in one of the ships two corpsmen and one of the away team members into the emergency shelter, the air was stale and the shelter was dark. Turning on their flashlights, they saw a huddle of Herdonians (in numbers consistent with what their tricorder and Tutuila sensors picked up in that emergency shelter). Attempting to arose a Herdonian, the entire huddle moved. Attempting to move a finger they could not. Thus, failing to arose the huddle, the corpsman (a vulcan), attempted to conduct a mind meld; revealing that there is no brain there. With that the away team reportered their findings, and beamed back aboard the Tutuila.
Going to yellow alert, and raising shields, the Tutuila was perplexed with their findings. Sending a subspace message to their Herdonian contacts, they are informed that the ship which they had in front of them is not a Herdonian registered ship, but would be glad to receive a new ship. Keeping their shields up, the Tutuila began a warp tow towards Herdonian space, also attempting to avoid the Talarian blockade of Herdonian space. Failing to reveal anything abnormal with theirs scans, keeping their proximity, the crew changed their destination for Oezo Station, where they can get more people to investigate the ship; also the ship would scan for abnormalities once a day of the ship. A day away, only able to travel at their cruising speed (Warp 6, a 12 day journey), with a very good sensor role. They find that the ship has no EPS system, and the ship's sensor system had a lock on the Tutuila. With shield still up, the ship severed its warp tow.
The Size V vessel explodes sixty thousand kilometers away, causing 100 points of damage to the Tutuila (with only 80 structural points). 46 points are absorbed by the shields, and 4 points by the hull resistance, causing the ship to be reduced down to 30 points of structure, or 38% hull integrity. The blast violently disrupts the ships warp field, dropping the ship out of warp; the ships Yeoman (modeled after Radar) is killed, the ship's XO, secondary CONN officer, and the ships third highest ranking engineer NCO are near death, and ten others, including the ships primary corpsman, are incapacitated. Multiple systems of the Tutuila are out, damaged, or destroyed. With that the game session ends.

So since the last update there have been three episodes/sessions. Two were rather uneventful with the crew trying to recover, stabilize and heal the wounded, and do what repairs could be done. The damage was massive, but no more people died, though in a transporter accident one person lost a leg. During the recovery they found a missing crewmember in a program in the holodeck which when they tried to turn it off did physican damage to the crewmember.
Sending out a distress signal, after a day help arrives in the form of the uprated-Miranda-class USS Sardari. This couldn't come too soon, as using a shuttlecrat's long range sensors prior to the Sardari arriving they found two ships matching the hull type of past encountered Orion ships heading their way. The Sardari took the Tutuilia under tow, and the crew were beamed aboard, to spend the rest of their time to Starbase 535 in the undamaged Sardari, and those individuals who were injured continue to be kept stabilized, and within the resources of the ship, heal the injured 'Fleeters. Being notified that the local fleet commander wanted to debrief them when they arrive the waking senior enlisted and officers of the Tutuila gathered to ensure that their recollections matched one another, and the sensor logs.
After the meeting, and with one of their own crewmembers still aboard the Tutuila, in the holodeck, the crew's two Chief Petty Officers, two of the crewmember's friends, and one of the ships Corpsman transported over to see what they could do to get the person out of the holodeck.

Next game is at a different location, and will be on 6 July.

Sorry again for the late summary.

When we last left off some "lower deck" characters beamed aboard the Tutuila, en transit to Starbase 535, to see about freeing their fellow crew member who was "trapped" (somewhere between "Better than Life" & the Matrix) in the holodeck. Unable to reach the crewmember within his paradise virtual reality, they placed IV lines into the crewmember, ensured that power to the holodeck would be maintained (as removing the crewmember from the VR tub caused injury to the crewmember), they placed notices at the holodeck not to disrupt the program.
Arriving at Starbase 535, rather than meeting with Rear Admiral (upper half) Chapel, the officers and senior enlisted of the Tutuila, received a debriefing by the admiral's chief of staff, a Vulcan captain. During the debriefing they did not impress the Vulcan.
Afterwards, the non-injured crew of the Tutuila were instructed to board the USS Mei Yuan, a warp tow vessel, who would take them to 40 Eridani A Starfleet Construction Yards for repair and refit. However, the journey would take about three weeks, and the quarters were spartan and cramp. Those who were injured were to be transported there aboard the Hospital Ship Nightingale.
Several of the officers (injured and non-injured) were given orders off the ship (PCs who were no longer played by inactive players made up some of the characters), and several enlisted (many injured) were given orders off the ship. Upon reaching 40 Eridina A, with some wrangling through contacts and patrons, the crew were able to get their phasers upgraded; beyond the ship was fitted with a energy sheath hull and additional crew quarters. Additionally, new personnel (including two new PC characters) were assigned to the ship during its repair and refit period.
With orders that they were to be transferred to 15th Fleet after their repair and refit period, the repaired Tutuila set course to Starbase 234, with possible further transit to Starbase 105.

Tutuila made it to the spacedocks in the same system as Vulcan, on the way two characters had intercourse, with no mention of birth control being taken. The ship was repaired and upgraded. While at Spacedock, they were able to get the crewman who was stuck in the holodeck game, who was detached for recuperation. From the intimate interaction, the female character was informed that she was pregnant, which was quickly aborted (a decision made by the character), after an initial objection from the ship's CMO.
Upon completion of the repairs the ship traveled to Starbase 234. At Starbase 234 the crew received a briefing regarding the Klingon Empire (Late 2367 (near end of Season 4 TNG)). Later that evening, the Captain received a clandestine briefing regarding possible Romulan support of the House of Duras.

Later, after the game the player whose character became pregnant, and the player whose character fathered the aborted embryo quit the game.

This entire game occurred docked at Starbase 234 (ship has landfall and atmospheric capability).
Unknown to the crew, early in the morning the crew is called for an unannounced all hands formation on Deck 3, finding the ship's captain (a Lieutenant) and Bolian Commander. Calling the crew to attention, the captain relinquishes command and the Bolian accepts the command for 15th Fleet. The Commander than orders the next highest ranking officer, a PC character, up and orders the computer to place that PC in command. The crew is then dismissed.
The PC (a LTJG) then takes the Bolian Commander aside and ask what just happened. The Bolian than explains that Personnel just sent an unexpected transfer order for the ship's captain and executive officer, and there are no replacement personnel, and thus the ship's command has been transferred to the next highest ranking assigned crew member. The Bolian Commander than makes a suggestion for an executive officer, and then leaves.
The PC takes no time in attempting to get the ship in order, with the former command staff transferred off the ship, and the ship already understaffed, he places a request to personnel command, and gets with the ship's department heads to go over what just happened. After the meeting, he gets with the senior ranking chief and has him coordinate with the new XO, another PC, to run random unscheduled drills. The drills go well, with some crew doing OK (engineering and Science excelled), and other crew not doing OK (the new command staff showed their lack of formal training, and a Crewman 2nd Class Rimmer needed some special attention).
The CO inspects the ship, although he knows it decently as the former ChEng, and finds that one of the ships two shuttlepods appear to have received some non-regulation modification (in progress). After speaking with his Department heads, he also makes a request to personnel command to increase the ships billets (a full complement of officers (1 engineering officer, 1 operations officer, 1 security officer) and additional enlisted (1 medical, 1 security, 1 tactical enlisted)).
The ship's CMO went around placing additional medical kits around the ship and got with the CO about scheduling mandatory medical kit and emergency trauma training. This was after the CMO and the CO went to the firing range together (the CMO slightly outdoing the CO (who was using a gunpowder pistol)) and practice dueled with swords (CO dominating (using a British Naval Officer's sword and the CMO using a Vulcan sword)).
The XO gets with her flight crew, and schedules them for their own helm/conn drills.
Game ends the day before they leave the starbase. Significantly more PC interaction takes place this game, than in previous games.

The date of the events of this game was anchored prior to game due to an out of game, in game letter written by a player, as beginning on 23 August 2367. The course of the game ended in 27 August 2367.
The game started for me before the game actually started in that the new CO player wrote an in-game letter to the character's parents that was rather good, and then we met up before the game to have an AYCE Korean BBQ brunner (BReakfast/lUNch/dinNER). During brunner a friend of one of the players who lives in Florida, who was on the fence, told us he is down with Skyping into the game (and later decides to join permanently).
In game, the game starts with the the XO talking about a route that they would take to get from Starbase 234 to Starbase 105, after which a drill occurred where the ship fared poorly, except for Engineering and Operations Departments. The new Captain, after the drill invited his officers (all four of them! (one was silent, a character whose player couldn't be there tonight)) to have dinner with the Captain. By the end of the dinner everyone was buzzed, and had a good time eating an excellent meal prepared by the ships senior most CPO (a trained exec chef). The rest of the night, prior to the ship getting underway, was almost sleepless, with the ship's other CPO forced the ship to run numerous drills until the ship left the Starbase (including the K Maru). The departure was uneventful, and took the Tutuila three days to reach their point of entry into the Klingon Empire. (I had created a mechanism by which Federation Ships could transverse the Klingon Empire in an authorized manner called a "Treaty Transit Corridor", a part of the Khitomer Accords. A designated area of space that stays more than 1 light year from any system, that was 1/2 light year in diameter along the galactic plane but no thicker than 4,050,000 km above or below the galactic plane.) In those days the CSO learned from researching the possibility of using anti-proton/tachyon particles to detect clocked ships. Upon reaching the threshold of Klingon space, they announce their entry per treaty, and begin their journey through the Klingon Empire. After a short while, their sensors pick up an energy reading where none should occur. Stopping, the Captain brings the ship about to direct its more powerful sensors to bear on the energy reading and determine life signs coming from the same area where the energy readings were coming from.
Bringing the ship to Yellow Alert, the CO make a general hail, challenging any ships in the area to decloak, his hail receives no response. The ship then detects an ion trail beginning to form from the area where the energy reading was detected, leading to a point still outside the Treaty Transit Corridor but aft and ventral of the ship. Not receiving any responses but knowing they were being followed, the ship continued its journey.

Initially there was a considerable amount of technical difficulties, as we were at a boba-coffee bar with free wifi to play, as we had multiple mics creating feedback, and the noise of the establishment making it difficult, however after figuring out one mic was enough and all of us wearing headphones worked well the game went smoothly.
Thanks Cpt. Lundgren for the kind remarks.

Roughly three weeks past in game during this game session.

Continuing their transit through Klingon space, the Tutuila, continued to be followed by the first Klingon ship, that had not responded to their hails. Intermittently the Tutuila lost contact with that ship, while the Chief Science Officer attempted to teach the rest of his department the concepts behind the anti-cloaking tachyon scanner. Additionally the Captain had ordered that the shields remain active throughout their time in Klingon Space, and standing down from alert.
Their transit would take them down three legs, and would keep them away from any inhabited Klingon worlds. This did not stop the cloaked Klingon ship from following Tutuila.
After about a day on from first detecting the cloaked Klingon ship, the ships shields received damage on its forward shields, while the cloaked Klingon ship that they were aware of had maintained its position aft of the Tutuila. Coming to Red Alert, the ship was able to re-use the tachyon scanner and able to discover that the damage to the forward shields was caused by brushing up against the shields of a second cloaked Klingon ship, with a third Klingon ship on an almost intercept course. Coming to Red Alert again, the Tutuila sent out a general hail stating that they would shoot at any ship that comes near it. At this point one of the Klingon ships unlocked and welcomed the Tutuila into Klingon space and informed the Tutuila that it was their to "escort" her. After a series of bluster and negotiation on both sides, the Klingons were able to get the Tutuila to increase their speed, and have the Tutuila leave Klingon space sooner. The entire while in Klingon space, the Tutuila is tracked by three Klingon birds of prey, one unclocked, and two cloaked (unknown to the players (they were conducting scans of the Tutuila to understand the modifications that has made it unique from the other ships in its class))(At the same time, the Tutuila was attempting to gather information on the specific birds of prey around it).
Although "escorted" other birds of prey would be observed from time to time making fake/practice torpedo runs on the Tutuila, practice the steps prior to firing from maximum torpedo range. Over time, the crew of the Tutuila were able to determine that all the birds of prey they have encountered were all under the same Klingon House.
Upon leaving Klingon space, it took the Tutuila an additional two weeks to reach Starbase 105; during the time the new CO and XO began to take, through distant learning in the holodeck, the classes that make up the Command School course. At Starbase 105, the Tutuila replenished stores, and took on new crewmembers (including one dependent (a first for the ship)). The ship's CO also received, in his quarters, a black envelope.

Ran a session on 14 September at a friend's apartment with one player skyping in. Just had one person interested, to join the group, but who is not interested in skyping in for the first couple games (I don't want to invite strangers to my friend's apartment without getting to know the person first).

Only two days passed in game (therefore the game would have ended on (Earth calender) Tuesday 19 September 2367), which the Tutuila remained docked. During the time the ship ran on reduced manning and the crew were allowed liberty, with only three crewmembers on watch. The game session was mainly social interaction.
Upon arriving the ship's captain went about attempting to find information on his ship's assignment, and to get information on the region of space (already aware that he has been assigned to 15th fleet). He learned that the ship was now assigned to Patrol Squadron, 15th fleet (made up of four ships, with the fleet comprised about 36 ships); with standing orders to patrol the borders between the Federation, Romulan, and Klingon Space, as well the outer frontier. While on station, he also made good rolls and were able to get a case of old brandy, aged 200 years, and bottled in 2264. The ship's XO spent her time studying for the command course which her and the Captain were taking, and the ship's new Chief Tactical/Security Officer began to acquaint himself with his new ship.
At the time the ship was docked they were the only Starfleet ship "in-port". The majority of those seen around the station appeared to be civilian Starfleet employees (wearing various branch color jumpsuits, like the ones worn by Shimoda in The Naked Now). Due to some poor roles, it was determined it would take the ship four weeks to replenish the ship's consumable stores (mostly due to the time it takes to transit high quality ingredients used by the ships senior enlisted advisor).
On the evening of the second day, the Captain hosted a dinner, with the ship's new officer, and the two most senior enlisted members of the Engineering Division. Although not as interesting as the previous played dinner with Ensign Roxx and the ship's new XO, it was good roleplaying.
