    Upgrade completed

    The upgrade is completed for now. There are a few minor glitches I'm not entirely happy with, as how I have different smilies paths per template (as the question marks over the confused one is invisible on a dark background.

    But it is possible I have overlooked something more important. So keep an eye out, and tell me if you find anything weird or broken.

    Next step is to get some anti spam measures in place, so I can reopen the registration process again.

    Hmmm. May tak a little getting used too. But we have remained unchanged for some time...

    I do however like that all attachments are accessable and viewable from the main page, that'll save some time when searching...

    I do note, however that the html image links in my Sig are rendered in plain text, not as the images they link to, or indeed, as links to my site... Is hyml eanbled in your config?

    I think it is about eight years since we upgraded to vB3.

    I had actually hopped vB5 would be a good choice, so I could pick that one as another long term platform. But it felt like it would been a downgrade from what we had.

    But yes, it might take a bit of time getting used to.

    Just looked. Pure HTML is turned off, but there is a new html tag that should work within the sig. Not sure on the limitations for that tag. And there is possible to add images through the image tag. But not sure if it is possible to create image links through them, but if possible it is a better option than reactivate pure html.

    Here is an example of how to add an image, that is a link, through bbcode:
    [url=http://www.example.com] [img]http://forum.trek-rpg.net/images/statusicon/forum_new-48.png[/img] [/url]

    Found the example in here http://forum.trek-rpg.net/misc.php?do=bbcode

    the html tag apparently just present the html code in plain text, but color coded.

    So this:
    [url=http://www.coldnorth.com/owen/relic.htm] [img]http://www.coldnorth.com/owen/relictab.gif[/img] [/url] [img]http://www.coldnorth.com/owen/smallbadge.gif[/img] [img]http://www.coldnorth.com/owen/relictab.gif[/img] [url=http://www.coldnorth.com/memoryicon/] [img]http://www.coldnorth.com/owen/icontab.gif[/img] [/url]

    Will give this (and should work in the sig as well):
