    From a dramaturgical perspective, though, you have to ask whether the point of the scenario is something that happens at the location, or whether the point of the scenario is stuff that happens between the points? If the latter, yeah Trek has technology that explicitly interferes with that, but what you can do instead is just increase the scale to match—the Crew has to manage settlements spread across a solar system or sector, and instead of crossing a river they have to get to a team on an outpost knocked out of solar orbit into a plasma stream or something.
