Constitution Class a 24th century version seen at the battle of wolf 359

As we all have seen in the starship graveyard scene of the aftermath of Wolf 359 the secondary hull of a constitution refitted type starship was adrift in the wreckage field. Here I have generated a possible ship that was a repeatedly upgraded version of the Constitution class that is similar to the ship that Kirk commanded. This vessel may appear to be an antique version of the Constitution class but much of its systems have been upgraded beyond what Kirk’s ship looked like. I envision that the ship looking much as the Enterprise did in the movies with little differences even while the advanced technology gave the old ships a renewed life.

The ship has additional torpedo launchers heavier phases and a optional heavy forward phaser that can act as heavy cannon without actually being one, as it is a type stronger than before. The shields are substantially stronger than Kirks Enterprise and are still weak in comparison to ships that are much newer and advanced.

Even with the advanced tech that has been installed into the ship, the ship would still lack in exploratory capabilities. I would see that the ship would function well as a military patrol vessel in the core sectors of the Federation. The Federation would have likely made the ship operating well as the ship would carry diplomatic personnel to and fro from space stations and diplomatic conferences and meetings.

Excellent excuse to get a late 24th century crew onto a Connie!

Just wondering why you list the crew as 500. Connies operated with about 420 back in their glory days, and I'd expect modern tech to reduce crew requirements, not increase them.

The Connie and Intrepid classes are approx the same size. Voyager was stated to have a compliment of 141 (I assume that Tuvok was assumes to be a +1 making it 142). So lets assume a 150 crew ballpark.

Now the Intrepid was advanced tech, so even with automation of sytems and upgrades the Connie may be unlikely to drop that far, so perhaps that should be a ballpark of 250-300 crew dependant upon misson profile. How does that sound?

space dock, cruiser crew=[su (2000 in this case)/100]x25 so he is bang on

BTW space dock lists Intrepid-class with 150 crew (and it doesn't follow standard space dock rules as there isn't a "light explorer" category, they used
crew=22.5(su/100)x6.7 which was around "scout class" crew levels, though space dock has specific rules for rounding.)

Crew levels are dependent on envisioned class use.

I was looking at the Tech not the Crew. However Pikes ship had something like 205 would be nice.

I'd say 200 is a good round figure and sits well with 24th century staffing numbers. After all, the Galaxy class was 8 times the size (volumetrically) and had a crew of about 800 (with 200+ family members), but it also was advanced tech. After all, the Mirandas and Excelsiors are still in service and they're the same age as the Connie Refits.
