My dad always said sailors are reincarnated as seagulls (or shitehawks, as he called them - Brits will know why...). If so I'm sure your dad and mine are up there now.

From the post in the News Section, it sounded as if he had a full life. He got to expand his frontiers in the Merchant Marine, had children and Grandchildren, and was surrounded by the people who loved him most. I hope I am as fortunate as to have all that going for me when I go.
I will hold a moment of silence in your honor, D man.
