    Energy Damping Field generator

    some of the most powerful defensive devices employed by any race, these generators are place around a ships hull or facility and emit a Duonetic field. The generators not only project the field but insulate what ever the generators are mounted to from the effects (and the effects of other duonetic field generators) Only highly advanced cultures have the technology to develop these sophisticated devices.(Federation after the 26th century, the Voth). A duonetic field inhibits energy flow and is capable of disabling almost all technology's while ever those technologies are in the field.

    One of the hardest lessons learned during the Dominion war was the defeat at the Second battle of Chin'Toka, and the effectiveness of the Breen Energy Dissipator. After the war, as a part of the Dominion Surrender Pact all Dominion equipment and ships in the Alpha quadrant were handed over to the Federation, so the Federation has had ample chance to study (and reverse engineer) all that technology. As of 2380ad Federation weapons R&D developed a version of the Energy Damping Weapon of their own. Federation Energy Damping Weapons are similar to the Breen version but operate on a completely different frequency, so any defense developed to counter the Breen version is ineffective against the Federation version (all Federation vessels are immune to the effect).

    Damage/Effect Upon a hit the target vessel immediate looses 1/4 of it's Power and Power Generating ability (includes auxiliary and emergency power). The vessel then looses another 1/4 of it's power and power generating ability per round until it has none. The only way to reverse the effect of the Energy Damping Weapon is to tow the vessel to a repair station/yard and repair &/or replace every part of the Warp Propulsion system, impulse engine/s and Power Generation component's, a task that potentially could take weeks.

    Note As of 2375 Klingon vessels (if they adjust their Tritium Intermix) and modified Federation vessels (Federation R&D developed a way to tune Federation shields) are immune to the effect of the Breen Energy Dissipator.

    Technology note, by the 2800's the effect of these weapons is doubled (so 50% loss of power on the initial hit and then 50% loss the next round) also the weapon comes standard with a Gamma interlock (acc 3/4/6/9) 0 SU
