As WaveMan (over at this forum page http://forum.trek-rpg.net/showthread...ek-Renaissance) wanted here is the Enterprise-G from Star Trek Renaissance. This is the as is model not exactly as my taste in over the top. I know that some of my starships are far over the top this one just doesn’t have that loving feeling. Too many extra weapons for a starship its size. To create the power core I have to dig into my Stargate notes to generate the Zero Point Energy Reactor. I will be generating a more economic version of the starship when I get around to making it more realistic in design.

thanks for this mate, while I agree with many of your interruptions (your take on the polarizing reactive hull armour is an innovating approach, I would never have thought to do it that way) I disagree with a few things.
Power core is listed in Cochrane (Phoenix QIC has a 7500+ Cochrane, A Galaxy class vessel has a class 12/r M/AM reactor rated at 1500+/630pwr [600-649 pwr] straight from canon, so it's not hard to work out the power output for the Phoenix) by my count it's around 3000pwr (7500/1500=5 ; therefore 600x5 =3000pwr), and by the description QIC are smaller then M/AM cores

What I can understand with the Enterprise-G is the size, Star Trek has had a steady progression in size with all the Enterprise's, and the Sovereign-class (Ent-E) is 685.3m sc8, yet the Phoenix class is smaller, so following the progression that would put the G in at least sc9 and move likely sc10....

well here is my take on the ship. I tried to stay as true as I could to Renaissance, adapting SpaceDock to suit rather then the other way round. One must remember this vessel is an early 25th century star-ship, and has around 20 years of advancements on the Sovereign-class (so I made sure the Phoenix exceeded the Sovereign in all areas even though they are technically different classes and would have slightly different deployment parameters) I will also post my thought's through out the listing to let people know my thinking)

The Phoenix-class starship will become the centerpiece of Starfleet's new Rapid Reaction Force, a specialized task force designated to respond to potential crises with hostile entities in short time. The RRF was designed from the beginning to take advantage of the advanced technologies developed in the aftermath of the Dominion War and the Sheliak War, including the alien technologies obtained by the USS Voyager during her seven-year journey across the Delta Quadrant. The primary goal of the RRF is to ensure Federation security through the rapid deployment of starship assets to a distant theater of conflict and to provide superior firepower against potential threat forces. Therefore, all starships in the RRF are equipped with hybrid warp/slipstream drives to allow previously unheard-of deployment times, and also come armed with advanced military hardware of both offensive and defensive natures.
looking at the Phoenix one can see it exceeds the SU's significantly, way off SpaceDock, if you stick to Renaissance. Comparing the two write ups you can easily see I agreed with Omega on a lot of points, and deviated on others significantly. A lot of the variances are me trying to duplicate the Phoenix as written in the original.
My thought's are , increase the size to 10 (su 2500-3750) and add 10%-15% because of technology advancement's. That gives you 4125SU's to 4313SU's. I realize that the size increase increases all the various systems (as they are all based on size), but if you pared down some systems, and maybe reduced the amount of type 12 phasers (say by half, 13 arrays gives a full 720 degree firing coverage, but put emitters up to 200 rather then 80.) you could get the Phoenix close to Space Dock while retaining it's Renaissance flavor. I will give that a go and post when I can.
I don't like the idea of just cutting it till it fit's, you may as well use a Sovereign-class if you plan on that.

*note there is a mention of a Heavy Explorer named the Bonaventure-class Explorer, this build could conceivably be used for that class rather then be a Phoenix-class.
