Star Trek, The Continuing Mission audio plays/podcasts
Star Trek, the Continuing Mission is a high-quality audio drams downloadable in MP3 format from http://www.startrekcontinuingmission.com/ (scroll down for episode links) concerning the missions of an uprated Loknar class starship, the USS Montana, hurled forward in time from the late 2380s to the early 2360s (the dates are never quite established, but the were thrown forward from just before the Khitomer Accords to just before the Galaxy class came on line, a jump of some 72 years). They are assigned a new XO, a Betazoid to keep them in line (and as a punishment detail for him for crossing an admiral). It's a very good series, with music and sound effects from the movies and TV shows. Voice characterisations are sometimes slightly shakey, but the quality is otherwise of the highest standard. There are currently 8 episodes available, with a ninth due out later this year. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars! Load 'em onto your iPod or other MP3 player and space out.
