    Star Trek Renegade starships

    The Starships from STAR TREK RENEGADES

    There are two Federation Starships seen in the video trailer of Star Trek Renegades one looked to be a Federation Heavy Cruiser with a linage to a Constitution class starships about the size of an Intrepid class while the other has some appearance of a Klingon Federation crossover design with Quad warp nacelles. Both of these ships make an interesting addition to the Star Trek Universe. I took it upon myself to generate them up.

    There are several other ships seen that are modifications of Klingon D7 type Battle Cruisers and what looks to be an alien vessel with an odd shape with an escort of smaller fighter size ships. The Battle Cruisers I would upgrade the weapons and defenses as well a little and give them a little armor.

    Each of these ships I can see used in an adventure. I will be integrating them into the series of adventures that we have been playing through. If I get to see the other ships better I will generate them.

    These ships are in my way official just my interpolations of the ships from their appearance and what little tech and details that I rooted out on the internet. I could find a little more of the details on the Archer than the other ship.

    I will start with the Archer. The Archer looks to be like a variant of the Intrepid class maybe a slightly more advanced starship version with a throwback to the constitution class in appearance. This is all conjecture and a better look would expose the ships true size and component of equipment and crew this is a useable version. The first run through on the design I guessed at it being 350 to 400 meters that was before I came up with a more data on the size. I may post the smaller version as a different ship with a few changes to it making it a scout ship or something similar.

    The second ship looks to be a cross between the Prometheus and a Klingon Vor’cha class Attack Cruiser with a quad nacelle design. The overall appearance appears to be Federation with Klingon influences. What I assume is a saucer like section looks to be a version of the Vor’cha classes forward section strapped to the front of a Federation Secondary hull.

    So in generating this ship I made it completely a hybrid of Federation and Klingon technology for this ship. It will appear to be both but neither a veriant of the two but not.


    The other ship Starship

    Renegade starship

    Looking at images that are on the internet I determined that the ship has either quad nacelles or duel pylon supports so either way I gave it quad warp nacelles to the warp nacelle notes that are posted by me. I thought that either way the ship looked good with the quad nacelles and can be changed with the simple removal of my details. I have posted at the bottom the changes in the nacelles for those who want the standard Spacedock design.

    My first run through provided a ship that was far too over the SU’s to be seriously taken and I slimed her down as I reduced the weapons down to a lower levels. I can see that the ship is still a starship killer as it is still over gunned. This ship is far more dangerous than the Defiant Class could ever wish to be. It is clearly not a completely Federation Starship in its design. Well at least I can see.

    In combat this ship can assault with 2000 damage without calling on the auxiliary or emergency power when it would need be called upon. The Heavy Pulse Phaser Cannons can be fired in a linked target with devastating precision. Few ships would have shields that could withstand such an assault. Even using the forward photon torpedo launcher the assault would be even more devastating with 3200 damage fired from the forward launchers. Then I won’t go into the full offensive output with the shields down could end a starship completely if in battle.

    Oh a cloaking device would make the ship all that much more perfect.

    as far as the Archer, the show is set in 2388 and I am not really seeing any advancement's over say the Intrepid, and the Prometheus-class far exceeds this build. (the Prometheus being a size class 7 vessel for a direct size comparison). I know it says in Space Dock to be wary of adding metaphasic shielding but IMHO by the late 2380's all front line ships would have this shield modification. Also regenerative shielding would be becoming ubiquitous by the late 2380's. Also no bio-neural computers or a EMH. I personal would also add high yield torpedo launchers, even if you don't add Quantum torpedoes (other then MKI which don't need a high yield launcher) there are many types of photon torpedoes that can be used (I love the Type VI photon , stratospheric capable [capable of being fired into a planets atmosphere, unlike most other torpedoes] 500 damage and requires a high yield launcher, makes most Quantum's look under-powered...LoL)

    I like the Assault Frigate, interesting vessel build. I have found size class 6 vessel to be a "sweet spot" size, seems you can fit in a substantial amount of technology into the size class 6 frame.

    I only discovered the Video Trailers and watched them once or twice. I Forgot all about Voyager having the Bio computers when drawing them up. I was more interested in making the renagade ship than the Archer.

    I agree that Size six is a great size but I like to make them in size three, four, five, six, eight, nine, ten, elleven best and if you look at my over all work I have made most in the three through six. The only size I don't like is size seven as I always get squeezed on SU's.

    I am thinking that if you modify your Archer build as I suggest it will end up mirroring the Luna class build I wrote up (which is size 7)

    size 7 and 11 for me always seemed too squeezed, they just never seemed to work (but that being said the Luna build turned out well). Size 12 is also another "sweet spot" build size (seems to work like size 6 vessel builds), but you can't go past size 16 vessels for sheer ability to let loose.

    I always wanted to do a build for the Husnock vessel (final version show in the episode) which would be IMO around Size class 12.

    Here is another version of the Renegade starship that I have posted above it is far more powerful and heavier armed than any starship in the Star Trek Universe for its size.     Construction Notes: The weapons linking slaves together two or more weapons arrays using a single targeting system and focuses repeated attacks on a single target. Basically this saves the addition of multiple targeting systems but limits firing capabilities and can be applied to nearly any weapons system. With the linked weapons the weapons can fire in a simultaneous spread or one after another yet targeting the same point on a starship that is its opponent. The forward cannons located at the front of the warp nacelles and channels much of its power through the warp engines when nacelles are damaged, the weapon is off line.

    With Quad impulse engines and dual warp cores this little ship is far over power and is capable dispensing some devastating firepower that can take out nearly any ship that is encounters. In testing it is capable of taking on the strongest Federation or Klingon ships with devastating efficacy. At present this version of the starship is far more dangerous than the version of the starship seen in Star Trek Renegades videos. This is a far too over gunned and over powered the ship would be a good replacement to the Defiant class for any battle situation.

    I ran a test against the Deep Space Nine’s starship Defiant, the Icarus was a little more powerful than the Defiant and was able to blow through the shields. The Defiant was knocked about and nearly destroyed in the battle. The Icarus has weapons are a little more powerful and could do more damage to the Defiant than the Defiant could do to the Icarus in return.

    I was wondering if there was anyone out there had run similar tests of the ships in a head to head fight with another ship.
